Washington Post

quote:
After more than three years, the most talked-about coverup at the Justice Department has come to an end.

Two soaring blue drapes that hung in the department's Great Hall were unceremoniously removed yesterday, once again revealing a pair of risque Art Deco-era sculptures that flank the room's stage.

Was that a slope I heard slipping?

A slip you hear sloping, perhaps.

I hope that picture of Ashcroft in the article becomes the most used and remembered one from his career.

Now the washington post is printing pornography. What would Janet Jackson think?

Posted by TMedina (Member # 6649) on :

She might find it titillating.

Wow, $7,275 isn't bad for a pair of giant cast statues! I'd say we got a deal, even with adjusted money values!

Me too, wouldn't that be rich. [Big Grin]

I'd feel sorry for the poor statue.

I'm pro-boob.

Republicans are pro-male boobs. Like Ash Croft, or Cheney.

Hmm, have found one redeeming point for Alberto Gonzales...

Two points, by the look of it.

[Roll Eyes]

(well, really, the statue is wearing a toga, so it'd only be one point. But that was pretty funny anyway.)

I thought ALL men were pro-boob.

This isn't exactly lining up with times. I mean, statues with bare breasts etc. have been around for... quite a few years now [Wink] .

They're not actually risque, you know. I'd be concerned for anyone over the age of like 14 who regarded them as sexual. Then again, maybe I just don't understand the awesome destructive power contained in any representation of a bare breast.

MrSquicky, I was going to say that but I was afraid of getting into a discussion about how risque can mean different things to different people...

But yes, I agree. A single bare breast on a Justice Statue is not risque.

Hang on.

Americans, remember? We only stopped considering bare ankles as risque last year.

-Trevor

edit: I'm amazed we don't have little "Censored" stamps decorating key areas of art history textbooks.

I never got that memo. You mean I can go out without socks on?

Posted by Teshi (Member # 5024) on :

That's only if you want to make a statement, Bob.

Hey. Ankles are SEXY.
