I just got an e-mail from a lady at church saying no one has signed a kid up for nursery for VBS ( think, a week's worth of work). Of course they are not going to pay me to sit in a room with Andrew for 20+ hours. !!!!!!! I DEPEND on this money, this is the money I NEEDED to buy cirriculum. I am just crying now.
Sorry, I just needed to vent.

I was thinking Vacation Bible School.

Yeah- Vacation Bible School.
But, the good news... I just went to get the mail and there was a check from my gram for the exact amount I need for my curriculum.

Wow. Spooky.
I'm glad it worked out, romanylass.

romanylass, my grandmother always seemed to send me money in my most desperate hours. She still does, actually. I always called it "Magic Money."

Good good good that you got money! Last week I thought my mother would just send me 50 bucks, but she sent me 100 instead and I needed money DESPARATELY.

That is great news romany! I have had a similar experience in the past, needing a certain amount of money and having someone out of the blue send me that amount. Very cool.

Can I send gram my address?

So, you'll have curriculum. Will you have kids there?
It sounded like no-one had signed up. Is that just a timing thing?
Anyway, I'm glad you got some good news. Go gram!!!

I'm fairly certain she meant curriculum to use with her own children, since she home schools.
(Hi Romany!)

Oh...<slaps forehead>
Thanks.
So...is there still no nursery for VBS? That's also a shame. But at least the romany kids will get educated!!!

I think it's probably better, in the long run, to have the money and not have to do the work. But maybe I reveal too much about myself there.

Oh, not me, mothertree. I loved teaching nursery school VBS. I did it three summers in a row.
But I didn't get paid for it.

I avoid the children whenever I can. But then, I have issues . . .
Romanylass, I'm so glad it worked out for you! Yay!

I'm so glad it worked out too. And today I plan to order at least Latin and History. But, I actually LOVE working with prescoolers, so if I can convince the VBS co-ordinator to put Andrew in with the three year olds (which he actually is now, but didn't hit their deadline), I may volunteer. I still hope we get a kid or two though, I could still use the money.

romanylass, Would you be interested in any workbooks on the ancient Greeks? My dad sent me a bunch. I can also send extra workbooks and stuff from school if you want. Just don't expect it soon. I am terrible about getting things in the mail.
Posted by romanylass (Member # 6306) on :
Would I? Yes, I would love them!!!! I always take free stuff .
