At a signing.

Sadly, there were probably five hundred people there, and I was #395 in line. I only had an hour to wait because it started at 6:00 and I had to be somewhere at 7:00. At 6:45, I gave up and gave my book to be signed to some guy that I met in line, and we made arrangements later for me to pick it up.

It did work out - there was a screening later that night at the Magnolia theatre of Bruce's new movie, The Man with the Screaming Brain. I hopped over and got my signed book back, with the name spelled correctly. I am sort of sad that I didn't actually get to shake his hand, although I can tell he currently sports an Elvis haircut and wears bowling shirts to signings.

Which book? _If Chins Could Kill_, or the novel? I haven't read the latter yet.

Did he write anything? I can just picture 'Give me some sugar, Katie - Bruce.'

So jealous. A friend got me a personalized signed copy of "If Chins Could Kill," But I didn't get to meet him. And I missed an appearance he made at the local debut of "Bubba Ho-Tep" because I was away at school.

Bruce and OSC are at the top of my list of celebrities to meet, and I've had near misses with both.

He wrote a new one, and this is the book tour. Make Love the Bruce Campbell Way

Sadly, the inscription doesn't say that. That would be awesome! Instead, it says "Hey Katie - *scribble* 7/7/05"

Dag

Come to OrneryCon next year and you might be able to meet OSC.

If it's the same time of year, there's no chance: bar exam next summer.

My inscription from Bruce says "Come get some."

We had long-running dispute at my company: The aliens have landed (or the zombies have arisen, or whatever). Who do you want to be on the scene to save the day: Ash from Evil Dead/Army of Darkness or Jack Burton from Big Trouble in Little China.

All right-thinking people, of course, choose Ash. [Smile]

NO KIDDING.

Jack was a doofus. Everything he did right was done by mistake.

June 24. A week later than this year.

So that's a big ol' "no."

Unless I end up clerking in Dayton or something.

Did you know that he hates all Batman movies, all Spiderman movies, all Superman movies, and all Star Wars movies? His favorite movie is "Bridge on the River Quai," which, I admit, is quite good (Alec Guinness is by far my favorite actor), but, still, suspend your disbelief from time to time.

I've seen Bruce Campbell too! At Barnes and Noble a few years ago. He was promoting his (first?) book. He's pretty.

Is is bad that I only recognize that name from Tachyon: the Fringe? I suppose I should have known that he did... other stuff... too.
