An impression of Sid Meier's thread. Who'd you be if for a priod of say one day, or one week, you could be a different Hatracker?

I think I'd be TomDavidson or Annie for one week, I'd write a hell of a lot of poetry under the name Jonathan Howard, and have a book of good poetry published... [Razz]

is this a popularity thread again?

Posted by Beren One Hand (Member # 3403) on :

I won't name any names, but it would involve mirrors and a lot of nudity.

Posted by Jonathan Howard (Member # 6934) on :

No, it's not a popularity thead. Not unless you make it so.

Posted by Kama (Member # 3022) on :

well, it seems like it is. We have a "I like ..." and "I'd date ..." both on the first page and now it's "I want to be ...". You could at least wait until the other ones make it to page 3 [Razz]

Posted by Jonathan Howard (Member # 6934) on :

We have an "I like..." one too? Where!

Posted by Tante Shvester (Member # 8202) on :

If I'm Maui Babe, can I spend the week on vacation checking out Hawaii? [Smile]

Oh wait. I could take a vacation to Hawaii and check it out and still be myself.

So, I guess if I had to choose a Hatracker to be for the week, I'd choose ME. Because if I'm not me, I'm not sure who would be, and I've got a lot of people counting on me.

"I won't name any names, but it would involve mirrors and a lot of nudity."

The answer is s'poseta be "Another Hatracker".

Posted by katharina (Member # 827) on :

I'm afraid my answer to ALL of these would be the obvious: OSC.

Wow! This thread has turned into the official homing beacon for the perverts of Hatrack.

Posted by mr_porteiro_head (Member # 4644) on :

There is no way I would want to be OSC. He has to put up wit waaaay too much crap.

Posted by katharina (Member # 827) on :

Yeah, but then you get to be the person who wrote "I think it's impossible to really understand somebody, what they want, what they believe, and not love them way they love themselves."

(Added: This isn't meant as a personalized attack!)

Okay, here's my beef with this thread:

I don't necessarily disagree with the seemingly innocent (if naive) motives behind the thread. But, I do disagree with the spin a few have put on it.

To imply that you would become an attractive Hatracker and molest yourself is extremely perverse. If you cannot see that, I feel very sorry for you. There is absolutely no way I will stand on the sidelines and watch while people pervert the innocent and (in a lot of cases) young women on this board that may not fully understand what you're saying. They may be too shocked or offended to stick up for themselves, so I (and I'm sure a lot of others) will gladly step in the muck and fight the battle for them.

I'd be Pop so I could mess around with the board and you people. >:]

Joking or not, it's bad taste.

And don't manipulate my quotes like that.

Edit: Deleted potentially offensive post about wanting to be Frisco. (My wife does like beards, however.)

Is this a collective "your" or a specific "your?" If that comment is directed at me, allow me to reiterate:

I meant that to specifically steer my blame away from you, since I don't believe you foresaw this happening.

Yeah, one person apparently changed their mind. I'm actually grateful they did. [Smile]

Every answer I think of to this question is going to offend or hurt someone.

So I'll just keep them to myself.

Somebody here lives in Australia right? This sounds like a mighty cheap way to get in a nice vacation. [Big Grin]

You mean checking for melanoma is not an acceptable social practice? [Wink]

I apologize if anything I posted offended anyone. I thought it was pretty tame compared to some of the other jokes that people post here all the time. I'm not sure why you think I'm directing it towards "young women," but if any one fitting that description thought I was directing my joke at them, I'm sorry.

(for the record I have not deleted anything in this thread)

p.s. aspectre is a guy right? Just checking. [Smile]

CT. Who wouldn't want to be so smart, beautiful, kind and compassionate?

Posted by Jon Boy (Member # 4284) on :

I'd be scottneb so that I could enjoy all the beauty and splendor of Boise for free.

Posted by scottneb (Member # 676) on :

See, you're starting to see things my way!

Give in, Jon!

Posted by katharina (Member # 827) on :

Man, y'all too?

Posted by Jon Boy (Member # 4284) on :

And then I'd be katharina so I could say stuff like "y'all," "oh my stars," and "*thinks*." That reminds me, I really need to get my mafia profile done.

I wouldn't be Brimestone (did I get the name right?), though, Jonneh Boy. My grammar'd be teased.

Posted by Jon Boy (Member # 4284) on :

It's Brinestone and Jon Boy.

Posted by scottneb (Member # 676) on :

I wouldn't be Jon Boy, I don't like crying.

Posted by Jonathan Howard (Member # 6934) on :

I wouldn't be because I don't like his semicolon-use style. [Razz] (Mind you, I have no idea how he uses them.)

Posted by Narnia (Member # 1071) on :

Hm. I'm going to have to make a pseudo called 'Brimstone.' It has a nice ring to it. [Evil]

I think I'll stay with Haloed Silhouette. Unless I use the "oe" ligature...

I want to be Kama -- because she gets to travel around to lots of other neat countries, and because she knows other languages. I would be so much smarter and more cultured if I was Kama...

Unless you use the oe ligature incorrectly, you mean. Or should we start pronouncing it "hay-loyd sil-uh-wet"?

Posted by Epictetus (Member # 6235) on :

I'd be anyone who doesn't live where I do. Sorry Utah Hatrackers, but right now I'm dying to get out for a while.

Posted by Jonathan Howard (Member # 6934) on :

No, Jon Boy. I meant that I think I'll stay with "Haloed Silhouette" unless I go for "Halœd Silhouette". [Razz]

Posted by Jon Boy (Member # 4284) on :

I understood. I meant, "If you start using 'Halœd Silhouette,' should we start pronouncing it 'hay-loyd'?"

But I just love the rain! That clinches it! You come on up here to New Jersey, and relieve me for the day, and I'll go on over to Hawaii and be you. Don't worry, I'll leave detailed instructions on how to be me, so you won't run into trouble.

I should ask, how are you with heavy lifting?

Posted by Jon Boy (Member # 4284) on :

Yes. You get a cookie.

Posted by Olivetta (Member # 6456) on :

Hmmm...

I just wish Hatrack were a real place where we could go and have picnics and our kids could play together, and we could talk and play games.

Also, the Wenches could paint eachother's nails and do each other's hair. We could have baby showers and birthday parties that didn't involved 12 hour drives or airlines.

*sigh*
