First off, sorry if this seems like a lame advertising thing that shouldn't be posted here. Select Comfort, where I've been working the last 8 months or so, is having a contest to find "America's Sleepiest Couple." The full details are here. With the talk of moving expenses, furniture issues, and insomnia that occasionally go on here, I thought some Hatrackers may want to enter. You get a trip to New York, a free bed, and a 5 night trip to the caribbean. Apparently we've only had about 200 entries so far. Good luck to any of you who go for it.

Thanks! My dh used to work there too. I'll have to get started on my worst night of sleep story.. I'll have to narrow it down to just one!!

So, without clicking on the link, because I'm lazy, is it really limited to couples? Could I not enter, because I am not married and/or living with someone?

Sorry, ElJay, the contest rules specify:

"Contest open to couples and all single people except ElJay"

Actually, it doesn't seem to require much coupleness on the part of the couple, though presumably it would be pretty essential that they've slept in the same bed at some point, and that said sleeping was a really bad night's sleep.

I knew it! I knew I was being discriminated against!

Why do you think you're still single? [Wink]

ElJay, you're discriminated against anyway, being a family member of an employee. If it weren't for that and you really wanted to enter, I know you've got some acting ability and I doubt it'd be too hard for you to find some random dude who'd pretend to be part of a "couple" with you.

(Careful not to use "couple" as a verb)

Are family members of employees eligible?

Although I suspect that "I drank caffinated pop after 3pm so I couldn't get to sleep" and "the dog insists on going out at 6am even on Saturdays" are not problems that can be solved by a new bed.

Aaaaand my question is answered even as I ask it. [Big Grin]

Me!

I thought family members of employees only meant, like, spouses and children and stuff. 'Cause I actually have a pretty good story, and was thinking about entering. . .

Bah! It does include siblings! That stinks. [Razz]

Man I'm really tired, but I'm not a couple.

I think I figured out why there haven't been too many entries. There doesn't appear to be a link from the home page. I didn't see anything about the contest.

My future sister-in-law attempted to enter, but got a javascript error when she did so.

If I slept later, we'd need rubber sheets.
