I'm a mean drunk

Syn, I would say I don't believe that, that you're as sweet as honey--but I know that would only elicit a long, twisted anecdote of your legendary rage while blitzed.

On second thought, I'm bored, do tell! [Wink]

Hope to see you on AIM this weekend, but I'm crashing shortly. [Sleep]

The thread title kinda says it all. It's a good night when you go to Hatrack and search for "drunk". Sorry to disturb your pleasant evenings. Have a good night.

Thist is da guy! DIS is tha guy! I love you man...

The problem is I can't drink enough to be drunk. I can just drink about half a bottle of beer and it maeks me sleepy, some Martini samples left me groggy and lagurchedy, but all the other times I drank too much I was just so grumpy and annoyed i wanted to just not talk to anyone.

I've always wanted to get drunk.

Posted by vonk (Member # 9027) on :

Based on the list you've given I would say that you should drink a buncha wine. Wine drunk is a very happy drunk, I like it a lot. Wine, of course, is very different from whine, which sucks.

I'm actually somewhat on the inebriated side of the spectrum myself at the moment. Had a few margaritas and a long island iced tea.

So, uh, yeah. Woooh! and stuff [Wink] .

Posted by vonk (Member # 9027) on :

Based on this list you gave, Mr mph, I would say that you ARE drunk.

edit: oy, someone take this keyboard away from me. I once drank 3 long island iced teas in between classes at the local community college. Woo! Spanish is fun. I don't htink this speaks well of me.

I never like how I feel after more than about two to three servings of alcohol. I guess I'm sort of lucky that way.

I didn't give a list of anything in this thread.

I am not drunk, and never have been.

I'm not drunk. [Frown] But I'm about to go back to taking the stronger painkillers, since vicodin isn't cutting it. Which is like being drunk, except that you think people have said things to you when they haven't, and you sleep a lot more.

Wow! Back from the dead.

Well, it's appropriate... since I'm drunk tonight too! Went off the the goth club with my boy toy and my girlfriend Natasha. Yay! Snuggle time!

That's not something you hear every day. It honestly never occurred to me that someone might feel this way.

In my experience, being drunk is a rather unpleasant state. Sometimes extremely unpleasant. A little buzz can be nice, and I'm glad I can experience that when I want to, but it's not something I'd miss if I could never drink alcohol again.

Drunkity drunk drunk drunk . . . ok, actually I'm stone cold sober and just caught Snow Falling On Cedars again. What a great movie.

My tummy objects strenously to all cheap alcohol and/or large quantities of any type of liquor. So the hilarity of being drunk (I am a very cheerful and friendly drunk person) is followed hours later with stomach cramps. Pretty weird. It's not a standard hangover, some intestinal/ digestion thing. Helps if I don't go to sleep for hours after having a drink - a shot of Schnapps/Bailey's is enough to do it if I don't have an hour and a half before bed.

I'm sure you ALL wanted to know that. It's 3 in the morning, shhhh. I'm going to go ahead and claim I AM drunk! Ha! I am under the influence, rambling posts are par for the course!

*Rides off on Space Pony.*
*With bottle of booze*

Question: I know in Colorado if you bike while inebriated you are judged on the same grounds as driving a car (.05 on a breathalyzer) and any points count against your driver's license (which is hilarious!). But what about if I'm riding my space pony? Hmm? Any laws against THAT?

Drunk? Notme, no, not this late on a friday night. wahwah. ah, good friends in town that i haven't seen a while. at least i have an acceptable excuse. sort of.

I've never understood why anyone would WANT to be drunk. I can have just as much fun sober as I can drunk, and I don't have to be embarrassed(sp?) by people telling me all of the things I did but can remember.

I'm at the point in my life where I'm kind of sick of drunk people. I've had too many experiences that I don't like with them. Ah well, to each their own.

Posted by Megan (Member # 5290) on :

The first time I ever got drunk, it was accidentally, on wine. I spent the evening crying and was sick as a dog the next day.

Since then, however, my (relatively few) drunken experiences have been much more enjoyable. For those of you who can't understand why someone would want to, I think it's probably the lack of inhibition that makes it fun. If you are a person who is normally reserved and inhibited, it can be possible to be completely relaxed and yourself. It's actually a very liberating feeling. Those times are some of the only social situations in which I've been completely relaxed, and far more myself than I am most of the time. (Of course, I tend to be reserved and insecure, so that might make the difference for me.) It's actually a state I would love to be able to achieve sober, and it sort of gives me something to work for in social situations.

Note, this is most certainly not true for everyone. It's just MY experience.

I wasn't drunk last night and I don't have a hangover this morning! [Taunt]

Oh, I haven't had a hangover since that first time. That's also probably why I don't mind getting drunk much--no payback the next day.

Hmmm, I certainly don't think of my drunk self as being myself.

Lately I've started to not enjoy alcohol as much as I used to. Too many people use it as an excuse to act like jerks. It's suddenly "ok" to be inappropriately flirty or mean, cause you're not in control, you're drunk. I'll admit though that alcohol can definitely make friend time seem... deeper. The unstated trust that comes from friendships seems almost tangible. Maybe cause people are more huggy? All the same, alcohol makes me tired and that's boring. Give me an energy drink over a beer anyday.

There's the difference. I have never even had a single beer, so I have no idea what alchohol in my bloodstream feels like. It's not so much that I think I'd like being drunk, but I'd like to know what it feels like.

One time I took the normal dosage of Nyquil before going to bed. The next morning I was so happy! It was 8AM and I was going to Chemistry, and that was fine. Yay, Chem! Look at my pretty notes. Then halfway through the class I realized I was in my 9 AM Chem class and had a cold. I'm pretty sure the Nyquil was helping me to enjoy class. Nice Nyquil.

That curiosity is what prompted me at a party to try it for the first time. That, and my friend taking my car keys even though he *knew* I was the DD and wasn't going to drink. I had no choice when he did that [Wink]

The coolest thing was you don't even KNOW you're acting drunk or all the things you experience and say are not sober things, until you think back on it. I think it's really interesting. It sort of sneaks up on you.

I like to drink enough to get tipsy, but not to actually get drunk...I hate that feeling. If I want to get a buzz, alcohol's not my weapon of choice anyway... [Evil]

Good point. Well, you always have the option of becoming a lapsed Mormon for a night. [Wink] (Totally kidding...)

It's my experience too. I'm normally rather quiet and akward socially. There are a few situations where I'm not and where I can be myself, like with my friends from home for example. But with a little alcohol I can get that in just about any situation. And the thing is, I like me when I'm being me. I like uninhibitted me a lot more than inhibitted me. So I really like the feeling of being inebriated.

But then again, I've never really gotten drunk. After about 3 and a half beers I'm pretty buzzed, but still very much in control of myself. I wouldn't trust myself behind the wheel of a car, but I do trust myself not to do anything that I'd really regret the next day. I'm just a much happier, more friendly and outgoing person. So when I drink I try not to let myself go beyond that state. Haven't gone beyond it yet. Probably will at some point though, being at college and all it's rather bound to happen.

If it more frequently gave me that reaction, maybe I'd like it, too.

But given that my grandfather's alcoholism did horrible things to his life, I'd still have to say I consider myself lucky that I don't generally feel a desire to drink excessively. That I can have one drink, socially, and know that that's going to be it.

I haven't really tried to get drunk since college. It's kind of funny, that there has been some history of excessive drinking in my family, but I just have no desire to get drunk. I enjoy a few drinks now and then, but getting drunk as an activity isn't all that appealing.

Liquor makes me flirty.

I tried tequila for the first time last night (usually I just stick to Jaeger, the few times I DO drink). It wasn't bad.

Really? Ya need to hang out with me more often. It's almost a daily occurance. Hey at least I am at my house for most of it. I walk to my bar. I love my bar. I've had weekends where I was so drunk that I was holding onto the floor to keep from falling off. Didn't care for the hangover, but a few painkillers take care of that.

I get REALLY cuddly when I'm drunk.
People tell me I turn bi when I drink cause I tend to hang all over the ladies. [Smile]
The ladies are more tolarent of affection is all it is.

One of my friends gets super smoochy when she's drunk. Normally she's kind of shy, but get a few beers into her and she's sitting on people's lap and kissing everyone in the room. Her girlfriend just rolls her eyes.

I went 'home' for a long weekend (just got home) and had a few drinks Saturday night with two of my brothers... We weren't falling over, but we were cracking up to the point my abs hurt and my throat is a little sore!!! That's the kind of drinking I like... just hanging out in a safe situation with people whose company I enjoy and getting just 'buzzed' enough to laugh a little crazier that I usually would, to make comments that I probably wouldn't have otherwise and still remember it all in the morning with no headache and ready for a huge breakfast!

Great times.

I just had a six dollar beer. Damn it, I wish I was drunk with just that. Maybe I wouldn't feel so bad about the price.

Posted by Alcon (Member # 6645) on :

So I'm a little drunk right now. 4 shots of vodka over about an hour and a half were enough to do me in. Personally I've decided I really don't like vodka. I'll drink it when it's all there is and I want to get a little drunk, but I'd much, much prefer a good Newcastle Brown Ale. Oh well, we're college students and cheap vodka (that tastes and smells distrubingly akin to iso-propyl rubbing alcohol) is about the best we can do. On the bright side: friday, drunk, good times [Smile]

Something I find highly highly amusing is that one of my best friends retains his ability to do complicated abstract math proofs even when totally smashed. And even when we're all really drunk our conversations inevitably turn to things such as organic chemistry (an argument over whether alcohol was basic (-OH by definision) or acidic (which it turned out to be, according to Wikipedia at least)) and computer algorithms (QUICKSORT, HO!!!). I have to say, I love my Skidmore friends [Smile]

A six dollar beer? Some of those have high enough alcohol content to get you pretty tips. Try a trippel or quadruppel. My favorite beer these days is Ommegang Three Philosophers. Very tasty, and 9.8% alcohol by volume.

Stan,

No, no, the difference here is that you've been drunk many times before, while Porter never has.

Another drunk chick right here. I couldn't resist posting. Gotta love a good college party. Small, but with a keg. Blue Moon and orange slices. Yum. And this guy with "After Shock," some drink that tastes like red-hots??

Good times.

I had Blue Moon with frozen orange Zima on top. At the Coors brewery. For free - one of my three wristband drinks. Oh yeah.

Blue Moon and Hoegaarden were the beers that got me to start liking beer. They are ok, but no longer my favorites. Sounds good with orange slices, though.

*gaBUMP*

Guess what time it is once again? Saturday night, time for the drunk thread to make a reappearance. Just for all us college folk [Big Grin]

So tonight I got to try Bud Light, Miller Light, and Corona Light. Of those three... Corona Light was the best. Personally I wish they hadn't been 'light'. There isn't much point to a light beer, it's like beer with out the beer to quote my dad. Oh well, swim team parties rule. Good times. But now it's off to bed.

Who else had a good Saturday night/Sunday morning?

Posted by Shanna (Member # 7900) on :

I only had one frozen margarita at Chilis. I was up for hitting the pub but my roommate was broke and everyone else was working.

Next weekend will be mine though. Getting a Walmart giftcard in a care-package from my mom (to cheer up my broken heart.) Its all going towards alcohol. I'm usually a rum girl but I'm open to any hard liquor suggestions!! So pass them here!
