So*, I'm back at home for a few days where my parents live in the land of 56k connections. When my laptop died, the modem got screwed up and needs the driver reinstalled. Sadly I have left the CD in Ithaca and now I can't use the internet on my far superior computing device.
Can someone point me in the direction of where to find a modem driver online?
Grazie mille!

If you know the manufacturer, try going to their website. Most manufacturers have drivers available for download.

The manufacturer of the modem, not the computer. Though I bet Dell does have a link; what model of computer do you have?

I use Driver Guide for most everything.

See, I don't know the manufacturer of the modem, unless it's PCI. I have an Inspiron 8200 and I did a lot of searching, but it seems like they don't have anything for it.

If you type your Service Tag into Dell's support site, you'll see driver downloads for every device on your laptop -- including the modem.
