Taken from the imdb website:

quote:
Colin Farrell has been embarrassed by his old schoolmates, who have shattered his tough image by insisting he used to be a posh "mummy's boy." The claims, which appear in Jane Kelly's unauthorised biography Colin Farrell: Living Dangerously, have unhinged the screen hunk's carefully crafted image, and his old pals are particularly amused by his strong Irish accent - which he never used to have. Childhood friend Peter Barry remembers, "He was seen as effeminate. They thought he was a sissy so he got picked on." Former pal Ritchie Molloy snipes, "He pretends he's from a tough part of Dublin but he's not." Another former schoolmate adds, "Colin sounds quite broad Dublin these days but everyone knows he's posher than he makes out."
Haw haw! He always seems to try to act so scruffy irish, with the tattos and the piercings and the punk outfits. That's pretty sweet news.

Um.
Does it still count as schadenfreude if the "misfortune" involved constitutes being accused of not being an authentic enough cad by the Internet, or is that too pathetic?

Didn't stop me.

No, true.
In that vein, I would like to briefly gloat about the fact that Pauly Shore appears in some photos to be balding.

I don't think that's quite the same vein. If Pauly Shore's friends came out and said, "Pauly Shore wants you to think that he's got a full head of hair, but it's a lie. He's bald as an egg, and it's just a toupe," then THAT would be the same vein.

Good point. Although it stretches credibility to assume that Pauly Shore might have friends.

I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt. If there are enough people in the world to justify his making more than one movie, then certainly there's someone who would be his friend.

Of course, this is all hypothetical.

Pauly Shore wants you to think he's funny, but it's a lie. He's actually quite stupid, and it's just a laughtrack.

Colin Ferrell... His eyebrows give me nightmares.

He was a protege of Kevin Spacey's (Spacey saw him in a play, and asked to meet him) which is how he came to meet... was it Soderberg? (sp?) Who cast him in Tigerland. There have been romors around hollywood for years that his reputation as a ladies' man is mostly smoke and mirrors. Though, of course, I wouldn't know or care (see note about the EYEBROWS, above).

Lord. I'm behind the times. I was sure that Colin Ferrell was gay.

I never once thought that Colin Farrell was macho! Blech.

Pauly Shore is one of the few people in the world whose very name makes me cringe with sympathetic embarrassment upon reading it.

"Andrew Dice Clay!"

Scared you, didn't it?

Jeniwren, I think that was the gist of what I was saying. I also think he's gay.

He's also quite sexy, in a 'neck down' sort of way. But the brows! The Brows! They harbor demons!

When I saw this thread, I got scared it was in response to something I had posted when I had not posed in weeks. My mind was in a blur wondering who would have posted under my name and how. Thankfully it was nothing of the sort.

BIG NEWSFLASH:

SOMEONE IN HOLLYWOOD IS FAKE!

Posted by Book (Member # 5500) on :

Yeah, but it's always amusing when old friends of theirs openly call them out on it. In an unauthorized biography. But whatever.

I bet Donny Osmond got caught eating babies again.

No, I'll bet that his childhood friends will admit that they never once saw him eat a baby. Some mormon he is.
