Isn't it still just a category 1 whose course hadn't been determined yet? Where are you reading that?

OSC has a signing in Utah Tuesday and Wednesday.

I've been watching the weather channel.

Here's the latest I could find from the National Hurricane Center's web site

OPHELIA IS MOVING SLOWLY TOWARD THE WEST NEAR 5 MPH. A GRADUAL
TURN TOWARD THE WEST-NORTHWEST IS EXPECTED TODAY.

Slammed is very much an overstatement - it's been downgraded to a tropical storm already.

Ophelia is no big deal. There might be storm damage but probably no more than the Carolinas sees with big thunderstorm fronts.

As far inland as Greensboro is, we really don't sweat hurricanes too much. We get some of the spin off wind and rain from the weak to moderate ones, and it really takes a major hurricane, like Hugo back in 1990, to come through and do much damage.

Also, thanks to the Outer Banks and the slightly cooler waters in the Atlantic off our coast, hurricanes usually don't create the kind of devastation you see in Florida and the Gulf Coast.

It's also been said that our building codes and standards are generally tougher than those seen in Florida. The codes are also appear to be more rigorously enforced.

But for Ophelia, we'll be fine, I think. Maybe some wind and rain, or beautiful weather.
