And speaking of "Seasons in the Sun", does anyone remember the episode of... I think it was Room 222, where they used that song?
I'm almost positive that was the show, but I could be wrong. There was a high school kid who was kind of a hellraiser. Girlfriend named Michelle, a best friend he'd grown up with, a disapproving father, and he played guitar. And he got leukemia. So he wrote (in the show) "Seasons in the Sun" and performed it in a school assembly. The last part of the show was letting the students out early because he died.
Does anyone remember this?

Don't forget "Ode to Billy Joe". (Though it's more "country" than "rock". Of course, I wouldn't call Seasons in the Sun "rock" either, I guess.)
