Bush Reported Near to Nominating Judge

I'm hoping for Janice Rogers Brown. She has a nice smile

I know you're grinning, Jay. But now you're going to have everyone jumping all over you for using a "smile" as a deciding factor for how well they judge, yada, yada, yada.

So much for sense of humor....

But that was why so many people voted for Bill Clinton because he was supposedly cute. I thought that was part of the whole list of things now a days. Just trying to make it easier for our friends on the other side of the isle to feel comfortable with her. I know I like her (regardless of her smile)

Jay, I like you better when you aren't being such a jerk.

Too bad it doesn't happen more often.

I can think of a lot of reasons people voted for Clinton, and while he was personable that was not the only reason...or even a definitive one.

You don't like it when people slam your political views (even when more and more of the current White House is getting caught breaking the law and outing CIA agents) so you should not be surprised that people dislike it when you do it to them.

BTW, I didn't vote for Clinton...bet you would have never guessd that, huh?

Whatever

It’s a fact that numerous people voted for Clinton based on looks. Your theory on the Bush administration breaking the law is straight from the Moveon.org Dean hate book. If joking around about people voting for someone based on looks makes me a jerk so be it. I really truly laugh at that. I think the bigger joke is that people would base their vote on something as meaningless as that. I know we can’t deny someone their right to vote because they base their vote that way, but it is a shame that they vote.

But anyway, I really wanted to talk about the next nominee and see what people thought there. I personally want an originalist. Not someone who thinks the constitution is their playground to do whatever they think is best.

In that capacity, I want someone who is likeable and will get along with other world leaders.
I want one of those for president too!

Do you think maybe we'll get lucky and vote one in who gets along with world leaders next time? [Wink]

What on earth does being a Supreme Court Justice have to do with other world leaders? This is the US we’re talking about not the UN. Do you also think they should look at foreign law in their rulings? This is a dangerous trend that I hope Chief Justice Roberts will help stop.

I never said that personality wasn't a consideration.

I said that apperance isn't usually a deciding factor.

Jay, it is a fact? Prove it.
Just remember, correlation isn't causation.

Also, foreign law IS a consideration in rulings, although not a binding consideration. Thank's for showing your ignorance in more than one way yet again.

I have also never linked to moveon.org. Ever.

Nice smokescreen though...

I would like to see a moderate get the seat, as most people in the USA are not radical anythings. [Big Grin]

I don't care what their personal political preference is, as long as they can interpret the law reasonably and without being swayed by those personal biases.

The person that Bush should nominate is me.

I think I'd look good in those robes.
