I'm helping a girl that I like play Starcraft online and its keeping her from connecting to Battle.net but the thing is we don't know what exactly is keeping her from doing so.
I have 2 possibilities:
1) Her firewall is preventing it 2) A router is preventing it
She's seeing if its her firewall and if there's a means of opening it, and now I have to see if ADSL has some kind of router since by her description its a cable connecting from her computer to a box that connects outside.
Any help please??? I hope to take her out eventually and impressing her is very important to me.

I don't know what type of ADSL modem she has, but all of the modems (cable or DSL) I have had do not have any built-in router.

I'm not sure if this is the best way to impress a girl.
Is she able to access the internet at all?

Nominally I'ld be bale to help just fine, except I don't know jack about ADSL.

So she is able to connect to the internet just fine? That makes me think it's not a problem with the modem or firewall. Have you checked the Tech Support page? It mentions possibly needing to download a patch.

For starcraft? maybe, I'll pass her a link to download the patch, and pass her zone alarm pro just in case she has windows firewall.

I might have been wrong about a firewall not being part of the problem. Here's a link that might be useful if you haven't already seen it. firewall help Posted by Blayne Bradley (Member # 8565) on :
