Just curious if their are any college students here that are on facebook? If you are a student and your not on it I would totally recommend you getting on! It is a great way to get in touch with old friends!

Oh sorry...

If you are interested go to www.Facebook.com.

I have a Loyola Chicago facebook and a Loyola New Orleans facebook.

But Myspace is way better.

I'm on facebook.

I think facebook is way better, pH. [Razz]

I love facebook. And it is addictive. I love looking at all the different groups.

Posted by pH (Member # 1350) on :

I meet WAY more people through Myspace than through Facebook. [Razz]

And I get invited to way more parties and events that way.

It's the opposite for me, Pearce. [Razz]

Facebook = myspace with fewer features, intellectual snobbery, and a confined age range...

Then again, they've kind of given up on being snobs and opened it up to the "stupid" schools.

That, and Myspace is the new home of every pervert on the internet.

My younger sister convinced me to join...so I am on it now

Posted by pfresh85 (Member # 8085) on :

I'm on Facebook. A sort of funny story about Facebook. I got an invite earlier in the week to join an "I love Prussia" group (I assume since I'm a Historical Studies major). When I joined, I made a post about a semi-serious theory about things related to Prussia. The group creator replied with something, and I replied back with more theories. When I checked back last night, I had gained an officer position and a title. That title is Chief of Historical Speculation & Supposition. I laughed, because it's just such a great (and lengthy) title.

Myspace = confusing site design and music when you don't want to hear it.

Though it's good for up and coming bands, I'll give it that much.

Posted by TomDavidson (Member # 124) on :

You know what's great? Being on Facebook when you're over 28 years old. It's like you can hear the tumbleweeds blow by. [Smile]

Posted by Treason (Member # 7587) on :

Hey, all the Myspace Hatrackers should hook up and become friends. It would be nice to get a better sense of your personalities. I'm already friends with AoD and now, Frisco.
Here is my Myspace so you all can come say "hi" if you like.

Whoops, just realized I hijacked your thread. I'll start a different one for this, if you want. Let me know.

Posted by kojabu (Member # 8042) on :

Another reason why I don't Myspace: too many random images. It gives a sensory overload.

Posted by BunnV (Member # 6816) on :

I joined Facebook a while before it became popular at my school, so it started out very impractical for me, at least. One of the reasons I began using it was when I was doing recruitment visits representing my college at my old high school. I had to organize the visit by finding all the alumni from my high school that were attending my college, and apparently the admissions office did not have a database of this information (or didn't feel like looking it up for me)-- considering that this recruitment visit is in an effort to help them. To make a long story short, thanks to the growing popularity of facebook I was able to type in my highschool name and then message or email a number of alumni who later agreed to join in (also informed of other non-facebook alumni) making the representation much stronger for the recruitment visit.

Edit: Feel free to "friend" me. [Big Grin]

Haha, oops, It's "Jorge Medina," which actually comes up with several results on global search, so just pick the guy from University of Florida. [Cool]

I'm not sure this will work, but....

Me!

Posted by pfresh85 (Member # 8085) on :

That didn't work (it just linked to the main page for me). I'll try linking mine though.

Me

EDIT: Odd, that link for some reason eliminates my 5 friends at UTD. *shrugs* Oh well.

Loyola Chicago facebook.

Loyola New Orleans facebook.

I get two. [Razz] Because I am awesome times two.

Send me a message if you add me, though.

-pH

Posted by blacwolve (Member # 2972) on :

Odd, does it work for anyone else?

I can't get to Ph's I think you have to link to your profile rather than your home.

Posted by Shigosei (Member # 3831) on :

I think the link to a person's profile redirects to the user's homepage. This is the link to my profile:

http://asu.facebook.com/profile.php?id=10004721

And I suspect that if you click on it, you will be sent to your own profile. If you guys all want to add me, you can just search for my name (Amy Teegarden--I'm pretty sure I'm the only one). Send me a message first, because I generally reject friend requests from people I don't recognize.

I use Facebook primarily for keeping in touch with friends from high school. I actually don't use it that often, but it's nice to have.

Posted by Raia (Member # 4700) on :

You have to either be at the same school or be friended to see a person's profile. That's probably why it doesn't work.

BunnV, thanks! *adding* [Smile]

To find me on facebook, search for Pearce Holland at either Loyola New Orleans or Loyola Chicago.

And my Myspace is here. But like I said, send a message when you add me, or I won't add you back.

And my Livejournal name is "yourprecious."

Eruve Nandiriel, I may have you beat. I was on Xanga (back in 2002 or so), switched to Livejournal and was there from 2003 till just recently, then I went back to Xanga. I also have Facebook, MySpace, and a number of other types of things. The internet is my playground.

Posted by Eruve Nandiriel (Member # 5677) on :

I just recently got LJ because I quit blogging on MySpace when my parents started reading it. >.<

Posted by pfresh85 (Member # 8085) on :

Ah. My parents (and a number of my brother's friends) read my LJ. It didn't bother me too much since I don't write anything too bad there. In fact, the only reason I switched back to Xanga was because my brother and one of the other guy's blogs I like to read both switched over to Xanga.

Posted by Eruve Nandiriel (Member # 5677) on :

There wasn't really anything bad on my blogs, but I just don't feel like writing anything there anymore because I feel like they're there to watch me, and keep an eye on me, which I hate.

I poke people IRL so poking on facebook is fun.

To have fun

Posted by breyerchic04 (Member # 6423) on :

well you can use it on raia and she'll scream, very loud, but usually doesn't poke back, or bite.

Posted by BunnV (Member # 6816) on :
