News is starting to come in now. It's just two days before the anniversary of the attack in 2002. At least 32 are dead, some Australians. As usual I believe the number will rise fairly sharply. Witnesses are telling of the beach being strewn with body parts.
They hit the same tourist spot as last time.
What gets me tho, is that they kill more of their own countrymen with these attacks than they do us. I'm sure we'll see an attack in Australia soon, God forbid.

A 16 year old Australian boy has been confirmed dead. That's exactly the same age as my little brother.

I keep looking at that and wondering why they say so very little about the locals that were hurt or killed.

There's probably been a bit of bias against Bali recently from Australians. After the first bombings Australians were extremely supportive of the Balinese, we made something of a commitment to continuing to go to Bali as one of our main tourism destinations and really stood by their people.
Since then, Indonesian authorities have made a concerted effort to target Australians for drug-busts that carry the death penalty. And the execution of their legal system leaves a lot to be desired from a 'due process' point of view.
So this time round I don't think there'll be mass declarations of Bali-loving.
