Hey! What the heck? October isn't over yet. I want my fall back. I mean, I was surprised enough to know that last night, snow was falling. However, I didn't think it would continue all night for three inches of snow today.

Anyone else get snow? [Dont Know]

If we had snow here . . . Well, let's just put "hell" and "freezes over" in the same sentence. [Big Grin]

You live near hell?

Misspelling of hail, in reference to the hail on Pidurutalagala.

Karl, where are you? No snow here...

I'm in Southern PA/North Central MD. It's wet and chilly, but no snow. (Thank goodness). [Smile]

We had some little spitty rain yesterday that I hoped was snow, it wasn't. Of course it was much too warm for that, but once I remember trick or treating in the snow.

If the giant rodents and bugs are any indication, she might...

Or she may just be near the Fire Swamp.

Well, I remember once, when I was a little kid, my family went to Lake Sherwood (near Thousand Oaks) for a picnic on Mother's Day, and it snowed a little bit. So, maybe not...

Anyway. Definitely no snow here in Fresno(although it has been known to happen), but we did have a pretty wild (for here) thunderstorm last night.

Thousand Oaks is nowhere near as tropical as Sri Lanka, though.

And we had heavy rain here last night!

We had our first bit of freezing rain last night in Buena Vista Va. Granted it lasted for all of about ten minutes.

Plus, some of the trees here haven't even changed color yet.

You live in thousand oaks? FUN! I was born and raised in San Diego and would go to thousand oaks quite often to visit cousins.

Ooops! My bad. I somehow read quidscribis as ketchupqueen. They're almost the same length, after all. [Embarrassed] Shows I've been working too hard, I think. [Wink]

I think I'll take that as a compliment. [Smile]

We might get some snow here later. I know the Whites are getting snow. We've got a Nor'easter rotating over us and Wilma churning off our coast.

I think I will, too. [Big Grin] [Kiss]

We're getting a good rainstorm in Las Vegas today, and some areas of town have had hail. Puts a damper on one's golf game.

Posted by quidscribis (Member # 5124) on :

Oh! We're in monsoon weather. Again. Which isn't that surprising when you consider that we get both the southeast monsoon and the northwest monsoon seasons at opposite ends of the year divided by a mere few weeks to a couple of months, depending.

It's been raining buckets and buckets every day. It rains so hard that if you actually went outside, you'd be soaked in about 3 seconds. Nope, not damp. Soaked.

And then the mosquitoes come . . .

People are allowed to leave Sri Lanka, right?

Posted by quidscribis (Member # 5124) on :

Um, yeah.

The next question is . . . Who would take them in?

Posted by ketchupqueen (Member # 6877) on :

Are we talking about you specifically? I would! [Big Grin]

"The Perfect Storm" in 1991 was caused when a Hurricane collided with a Nor'easter. Good Luck.

We had snow in the Mountains here during the last week in September/first week in October. My friends in Montana got 8 - 10 inches. Snow in October is nothing. The first year I taught at Montana State University, we had over 10 inches of snow on the first day of classes -- in August.

We not only got snow, but since the leaves are still on the tress a bunch of trees fell and around 55,000 people are out of power here in WV. They’re saying there are so many lines down that it could be days without power.
It was flurrying a little last night, but I didn’t think anything would stink since it was still decently warm. But woke, on my own since the alarm had no power, to something like 6 inches.

http://www.wvmetronews.com/index_forsub.cfm?func=displayfullstory&storyid=13296

The drive in was horrible and took three times as long. There were trees down everywhere and places it was over one lane and into the other and traffic had to go off the road to get around. One place there was a big part of a tree limb hanging in mid air on a power line. That was a little strange to drive under. Another place there was a line just hanging down. I’ve heard that the governor has declared my county a disaster area, but that might just be rumor.

It’s still coming down now….. should be a fun run tonight.

I checked Mapquest, I live 50 miles away from Hell.

Sometimes it feels a lot closer than that. [Wink]

And don't talk about snow, it makes me jealous. I want snow too dangnabbit!

I am from Alaska, and we haven't gotten snow.

Not that I'm complaining. [Wink]

YAY! My power is back on! We had no power from about 11 yesterday till 8 this morning! I slept with so many blankets, all you would have been able to see (if we had light) was a big pile of blankets and a little head poking out from the top.

YAY FOR POWER!

Allegedly one part of campus had snow last night, but another part didn't.

There was snow falling in the northwoods of Wisconsin a couple weeks ago. My mom called me after a weekend at the cottage to tell me how my dad had to bring the boat across a couple lakes to put into storage for the winter - when it was snowing. This was... um... still September, actually, I think.
