Charlotte's Web: The Movie

Do we really need a live-action movie when we already have a animated movie (which is quite good)?

The animated movie came out more than three decades ago. *shrug*

Well I had to read the book and then see the animated movie back in elementary school. It's one of the better memories from those days. I have a fear that this live-action movie will be worse than the animated version and yet will somehow replaced the animated version in elementary schools. That'd be a real shame.

That's a story that's always bugged me a little bit... why are the humans so stupid that they think there's something unique about the pig when it's obviously the SPIDER that's remarkable? And I suppose the rat, but the pig just lays around whining about things...

I say eat the stupid pig!

Mrs. Zuckerman suspected, but Charlotte's miraculous messages served their purpose.

That's absurd. Everyone knows spiders don't write! It must be the pig!

*wounded look* I wasn't going to ask! Really!

Besides, now you can just say you're waiting for the movie. [Wink]

I've never read Charlotte's web. Is it any good? Isn't that the book about a pig who falls in love with a spider or something?

Did you see the cast? There are great people doing the voices. I usually hate remakes but I think this one might be ok.

I adored the book, but it's been nearly thirty years, so what can I tell you? [Dont Know]

(Except that the opinion of a child would seem supremely relevant here.)

Remake?

How many live action adaptations of the story have there been? [Big Grin]

(I don't think that "Babe" counts. Does it?)

I really do hope they don't screw it up...

If you're worried, remember Babe. [Smile]

[edit] and that said, the website's setup is slightly annoying.

It won't have the same music, or voices, it won't do in my mind. But my book is worn out, and I'm pretty sure I wore out the library's video. I doubt most teachers replace it, maybe, but probably not. I won't. Not that I'm a teacher yet, or likely that I'll teach a grade level that reads it, but it's still unlikely. Though the cast sounds good. Even if half the animals weren't actually mentioned in the book, they have good voices.
