Now there are a number of people who have more than one identity on Hatrack and I have always found it very confusing.

Are there any that 'everyone' knows that you can share?

How did you find out?

Posted by imogen (Member # 5485) on :

Well...

There are some that are just 'novelty' names, invented for a one-off joke. Others are landmark-avoiders, used more often.

Two that spring to mind:

Goo Boy is Icarus.

Lady Jane is Katharina.

There was a thread about this a while back - I'll see if I can bump it.

Hi Imogen,
Thanks for the response. I don't udnerstand what you mean by land mark avoiders? can you pelase explain?

Posted by El JT de Spang (Member # 7742) on :

When people get very close to their landmark post count but aren't yet ready to write a landmark they'll create an alt and post under that name until something landmark worthy happens.

Sister Annie is the most recent one that springs to mind, which was an alt for Annie (obviously).

What happened to silver blue sun and thor?
Are they still around?

Posted by Teshi (Member # 5024) on :

Occaisionally, yes.

Posted by Noemon (Member # 1115) on :

Well, Thor got banned actually. Silver Blue Sun is the only username he posts under now, as far as I'm aware.

Aka, who has also posted as Annakata, currently posts as Tatiana.

Icarus, aka Goo Boy, occasionally posts as Megachirops. It's been a while since I've seen that one, though.

Geoff Card posts as both A Rat Named Dog and Puppy.

Who else?

Posted by ElJay (Member # 6358) on :

dkw also posts as Irami Osei-Frimpong and Banna_OJ.

Baaaad ElJay. Don't go confusing newbies!

Posted by Teshi (Member # 5024) on :

Wow, I didn't realise Thor was banned. Huh. But yes, the person still posts.

Posted by firebird (Member # 1971) on :

Bad ElJay!

Are El Jay and El JT de Sprang related?

Posted by Noemon (Member # 1115) on :

Nope.

Posted by El JT de Spang (Member # 7742) on :

We couldn't be less related.

Posted by Tante Shvester (Member # 8202) on :

I don't dilute my post count with multiple screen names. I'm 100% pure Tante Shvester. (or something)

Posted by Anna (Member # 2582) on :

I've had an Indian curry name once, for a joke. Apart from that I'm 100% Anna too (anyway I'm so sure I would betray myself with English mistakes it wouldn't be fun!)

Posted by Noemon (Member # 1115) on :

I've got quite a number of throw away one liner type names, and I've registered every creative misspelling of my username that I've seen, but the only other username I use for serious posts is Jake. That's a pretty rare occurance though.

[Big Grin]

If no one had called me on it by the time I got to work, I was gonna come back in and say that starLisa and Papa Moose were the same person, too. [Wink]

I have three alts. They are secret. :ninja:

Aren't Tom Davidson and Jay the same person?

<ducks and runs away>

Posted by El JT de Spang (Member # 7742) on :

No, you got it all wrong.

Tom Davidson and OSC are the same person.

Posted by mr_porteiro_head (Member # 4644) on :

Look! It's another Rack popularity thread!

Posted by Tante Shvester (Member # 8202) on :

Nah, Tom Davison is himself. No one else will admit to being him.

Posted by Narnia (Member # 1071) on :

*snort* I love you Tom, but that was a snorter. [Smile]

This is my one and only *tries to look innocent*

Posted by Teshi (Member # 5024) on :

I have a 'Teshi.' (an attempt at a clone) but it wasn't registered by me and I've forgotten the password. I've never used it. I don't even remember who registered it.

Posted by ElJay (Member # 6358) on :

There is an EIJay out there, with a capital i instead of a small l. But I know who owns it, and trust her to only use it if it would be funny, so I don't care. [Big Grin]

I think CRash and Kronos are the same person

Posted by breyerchic04 (Member # 6423) on :

I have three other usernames, one I'm pretty sure most people figured out, and one that only a person or two would know, but it's only posted once or twice.

Doesn't kat also have Javert Hugo, but not Javert?

Posted by Chris Kidd (Member # 2646) on :

I only have one that i nearly forgot about.

I'm 100% pure, well, at least as far as user names go.

But with all of the people with multiple users it must be hard to get an accurate count of how many "real" users there are on hatrack.

Posted by breyerchic04 (Member # 6423) on :

The number of real users is fairly easy to keep track of, but the number of different people who have posted or registered is harder obviously, though I'm not sure it's important. Knowing who's real is of course. There's always the fear we might have someone like K.A.M.A.

Posted by firebird (Member # 1971) on :

Breyerchic ... how may real users are there?

KAMA?

Posted by breyerchic04 (Member # 6423) on :

I went searching and can't find the thread, real meaning a jatracquero(a) who has met at least two other real jatraquero(a)'s that all trace back to one writng clinic I think. K.A.M.A. is the idea that Kama may have been a computer program instead of a twenty something in Poland, this theory is less popular now that she has met nearly 100 jatraquro's during her tour of America the summer of 04, including stops in Chicago and the east coast, and almost marrying Frisco.

Posted by breyerchic04 (Member # 6423) on :

I even tried googling the thread name, and it was found but it was pre forum switch this spring, so it didn't work.

Posted by SteveRogers (Member # 7130) on :

I'm not going to reveal any of my other names unless someone guesses them first. [Razz]

Posted by breyerchic04 (Member # 6423) on :

we've played this game before, it doesn't need to happen again, unless one of your alias's is Rhaegar the fool, then I'm so going to get you.

I have a suspicion that Danzig and Danzig Avoiding Landmarks may be the same person.

Posted by SteveRogers (Member # 7130) on :

What? No one knows who else I am?

Posted by T_Smith (Member # 3734) on :

I have a couple of others. The one that most people know are Anti-Chris. The others I just use for whatever other purposes. I think I actually have like 14 registered user names that are just sitting around.

Posted by ricree101 (Member # 7749) on :

I have few enough posts as it is. I wouldn't want to go around diluting my post count.

Posted by mr_porteiro_head (Member # 4644) on :

Eventually you'll get to the point where you might want to dilute your post count.

You think?

Posted by ElJay (Member # 6358) on :

Tante, have you slowed down? I expected you to be well past 4000 by now.

Posted by mr_porteiro_head (Member # 4644) on :

It's possible that you might not take pride in the fact that it's so easy to see that you've averaged more than 25 posts per day since the day you registered.

Well...there were lots of holidays in October. It really cut into my Hatrack time.
