The Springboro panthers, of Springboro Ohio, set a school record today with an 11-0 season(as of right now). Next week, we will be playing our SECOND playoff game for the FIRST time in school history. Unfortunately for the team and fans, the band(which I'm in) won't be there... that's the day of our Grand Nationals performance in Indianapolis, Indiana. Our performance time if 5:45- come see us!

Anyway, we ended fourth quarter with a score of 35-35. In overtime, we won the flip and scored a field goal. Their turn. They got it to the fourth down on the 1 yard line. That's right, our defense stopped them at the ONE yard line. Our main defensive tackle, named Jake, recieved a full football scholarship to Ohio State University for next year.

Sorry if you're all not interested in southwest Ohio football teams, but the entire school is really pumped about this. I've never been big into football, but I love it now.

Go Panthers!!! [The Wave] [Party]

Winning will do that for you.

EDIT: Whatever happened with you and your friend what'shisname? Everything turn out all right?

Yeah, we're good friends now, and I've decided not to date this year and give myself time to firgure myself out before I try to figure out how to figure someone else out. If that made any sense. But yeah, matt and I are really close. We talk all the time, and now that I'm on a new medication for depression, I'm much less moody than I was. Meaning a LOT fewer arguments. As for his friend, well... they're not quite as close as they used to be. Matt's friend wasn't there for him when matt needed him, so now matt comes to me, and we confide in each other. He's probably my best friend now, just because he knows me more intimately and I trust him more than anyone else.

Good luck to Springboro. Winton Woods was a tough match up.

There are not a lot of places that take such an interest in High School Football like southwest Ohio.

I played in the DII tournament myself some 15 years ago, making it to the state semi-finals and then losing in the second round. It is the kind of thing that a young player will always remember. Embrace it and have fun.

Of course, I played in the same conference as Winton Woods and therefore was not rooting for you tonight.

That's cool. Good luck to your team. My soccer team, which I'm on, just became regional champs today for the first time in history and we're going to State Finals next week so I know the feeling. It's a great feeling to have the support of your school when your athletic team is doing well.

My highschool's been doing extraordinarily well this season in football compared to the last two years. Two years ago, we didn't win a single game. Last year, we won one. This year, we've won TWO (this is assuming that we're utterly crushed at the game that is going on right now, which is the most probable outcome).

Just remember that if your team loses, Tinros, it'll be because their marching band flaked out on them.

No way! Our marching band gets more rushing yards than the football team!

I'm not in band, but I'm totally a groupie. Been there, done that, got the t-shirt. Really! [Big Grin]

Congrats to the team!

I attended one of the high school football dynasties of Texas and always look back with fond memories. I never liked football until I was able to see it played well by people that I personally knew. Though I'm in my third year of college, I still keep up with my old team. Good chance we'll be going to State this year and I'm trying to talk my mom into visiting Houston with me so I can see the game.

Good luck on the next game!

Sorry, aspectre, but the marching band will always choose THEIR playoffs over another team's playoffs. And Grand Nationals is like playoffs for us. See, there is this rule in our school. If a member of the marching band misses one football game, their grade drops a full two letter grades. So a straight A student could end up with a C in band for missing a football game. BUT... no football player has ever attended a marching band competition. Ever. Personally, I think this is unfair. But maybe that's just me. Any other opinions?

Last I checked, they're not getting a grade for football. So no, I don't think it's particularly unfair. But I do think y'all's grading system for band is kinda unfair.
