Neil Diamond teamed up with Rick Rubin for his new record, entitled 12 songs. I am listening to it right now, and, umm, at risk of sounding like 50 year old woman, this record is amazing. this is hands down the finest work Diamond has produced in decades, if not ever.

that is all...

Anecdote:

The Caroline in Diamond's "Sweet Caroline" was my mother's roommate at Emory. Caroline was dating a singer/songwriter who wrote the song and was performing in a bar, and Neil was in the audience and bought the song then and there.

true story, yo!

What do you expect?

He's the greatest songwriter of this or any generation.

I really enjoy Neil Diamond's work and there's always one of his CDs in the car. They're great for long drives because everyone can sing along.

however, the USAFA Cadet Catholic Choir used to do a hilarious skit/rendition of "Brother Love's Traveling Salvation Show" featuring my roommate as Brother Love... ah... the memories!
