Ok, I again need some help, so I turn to the collective brain-trust of Hatrack. In my American History class, I distinctly remember something about a National Security something number something which basically said pre-emptive action against Communism was necessary, or something along those lines. Something about preventing the spread of Communism. I've searched and searched for it but can't find it. Maybe it doesn't exist and I'm insane, but any help would be appreciated.

No, you aren't insane. Because I remember hearing about it too...but I don't know where from. I just thought I'd let you know that you aren't insane because I remember it too...

*laughs maniacally*

You are welcome, my fine chimpanzee friend. Very welcome. But I refuse to give you a bananna, that which you most desire. You will soon die of muscle cramps from a potassium defiecieny. Then we shall see who is thanking whom.

Definately missed the whole chimpanzee thing, but hey, its all gooood. I personally always thought of myself as more of a giraffe.

Yes! 68! Thats it! I knew it was NSC something but I thought it was 47 for some reason. Thank you so much

Yeah, my US Foreign Policy professor would have been ashamed if I had forgotten that.

www.wikipedia.com check under "Eisenhower" or aka Elmer Fud.

And that directive shall fail miserably if I get my way, muahahaha.

Wow, I thought the USSR could only lose/misplace its files, not the US's.
