Let's have a conversation. What's going on?

My head hurts. We need to go get the toddler bed out of the car.

Posted by HollowEarth (Member # 2586) on :

yes

I took a nap this afternoon because I only got 3 hours of sleep last night and now I'm up.

I could probably sleep right now if I wanted to, but for some reason I feel like doing something.

Posted by Carrie (Member # 394) on :

I set a goal of writing five pages of any of my papers a night.

So far, I'm at a grand total of Zero. Go me.

I think it would help to figure out what these papers will be about, then to write them.

Somebody say something?

Posted by CaySedai (Member # 6459) on :

I should go to sleep, but I've got a load of clothes drying and one in the washer that needs to go in the dryer before I go to bed.

Posted by ketchupqueen (Member # 6877) on :

It's only 10:17 here. Although last night I was up until 6 am local time.

Posted by CaySedai (Member # 6459) on :

kq: I'm in Iowa - two hours ahead of you.

Posted by Audeo (Member # 5130) on :

I just got back from my atrocious physics lab. Good news is that it's the last one of the semester; bad news is that I have it next semester at the same time (7-10pm). I usually stay up for a while after physics to destress and eat chocolate as a consolation for enduring the lab without hurting anyone or anything especially the TA.

Posted by CaySedai (Member # 6459) on :

oh, that is atrocious.

Posted by Enigmatic (Member # 7785) on :

I'm still up, but this is nothing special for me. I mean, it's not even 1am yet.

I just beat an "evil" sudoku at www.websudoku.com but it took me 24 minutes. Yay.

And yes, it's only 10:30 here. Yay for living on the west coast.

Posted by CaySedai (Member # 6459) on :

yeah, but you're what? 28? (Engimatic)

I'm a bit older - it's harder on me to be up so late ... yet, I do it almost every night. [Roll Eyes]

Posted by ketchupqueen (Member # 6877) on :

Well, the toddler bed is together. And made. Although now I'm going to have to unmake it to move it into Emma's room. But it's so adorable!

Posted by ketchupqueen (Member # 6877) on :

(It's a blue race car. We picked it and a mattress up for $50 plus the hassle of figuring out how to take it apart, figuring out how to fit it in the car, and schlepping it here from Thousand Oaks. Emma's been acting ready to transition to a toddler bed, and it was such a great deal we got it for her for Christmas-- just a little early, we'll give her something little and she won't know the difference.)

Posted by CaySedai (Member # 6459) on :

That's cool. She'll have plenty of time to be used to sleeping in a "big girl bed" before the baby comes and takes over the crib.

Posted by ketchupqueen (Member # 6877) on :

That's the idea. And bringing it in this early, we can even transition her very gently, unless she loves it so much that she makes the leap with no problem. (My little semi-clone doesn't usually take change too well, though.)

Posted by quidscribis (Member # 5124) on :

I'm still up, but then, it's nothing special as it's *checks clock* only 1:17 pm.

Posted by CaySedai (Member # 6459) on :

It's 1:20 a.m. for me now ... the second load of clothes is in the dryer, so I think I'll go to bed now.

Sorry to leave just when you arrive, quidscribis.

Posted by blacwolve (Member # 2972) on :

It's 2:20 for me.

I just finished my paper that's due tomorrow. It's clocked in at 2,464 words and 7.75 pages. I think it's really good, but I don't think I'll get a good grade on it. I don't really care, though, I had a blast researching and writing it. And doesn't that just make me a geek. [Smile]

Now I'm trying to decide whether to take a shower before I go to bed or tell myself I'll take one tomorrow and not take it.

Posted by quidscribis (Member # 5124) on :

[Big Grin] No worries, CaySedai. I'm used to little to no traffic when I'm around. [Smile]

blackwolve - I just did the same thing last week. I got a B- on the paper, which pissed me off because I thought I did better than that. Oh well. What can you do? Revise, I suppose, but that takes too much work.

Posted by blacwolve (Member # 2972) on :

We don't get an option to revise here. It always shocks me when I hear my friends at other schools talk about it. I think my professors would laugh me out of their office if I asked.

Posted by Evie3217 (Member # 5426) on :

Somebody just came to our door drunk, asking for "Kelly".

This is the fourth time this has happened.

I guess her friends used to crash here a lot.

Posted by Celaeno (Member # 8562) on :

Regarding revision...if I really feel like I can get a better grade on a paper, then I'll revise it without asking first. I'll show it to my professor and explain that I don't expect him or her to change my grade but I want to demonstrate that I understand the material. It works sometimes.

I hardly ever do it, though. I have to really care about the class and not just the grade.

Or a morning tradition in my case?

I'm playing with Coppermine photo gallery today. Seeing if I like it. And tossing up all my hundreds and thousands of Sri Lankan photos into it for everyone to see.

This evening, I'll be playing with Dagonee's recipe software components. Have to do it this evening cuz it's Mambo, which I don't understand, and that's when Fahim can help me. [Smile] (Go Dags!) (Of course, he won't see this post - he hasn't posted in here in a long, long time. Busy Dags.)

I just got back from fabric shopping. Yay!!!!!!

Bought material for shalwaar pants, a dress (wild hot pink pattern [Big Grin] ) a nightgown (cotton, fairly thin, and much much needed), and two aprons. Er, and a shawl to go with my shalwaar. [Big Grin] Much happiness reigns. [Big Grin]

Awww, I hate that feeling! Maybe try taking a hot shower to help drain? You don't even really have to stand in the shower, as long as you can breathe the steam.

Okay, I'm going to bed now. REALLY. I AM. Don't look at me like that. I'm going!

maui babe, can you take an alternate decongestant? Or use steam instead? I love my loratadine...

quid, that's awesome. Although I would not wear hot pink (hate pink!), I'm sure it'll be great.

I'm afraid to go to sleep, for some reason. *sigh*

Posted by maui babe (Member # 1894) on :

I don't know what else to take, and it's 11:50 pm now. I've had trouble sleeping for several nights now. The first night, I just thought it was cuz I'd been in bed all day. Then, last night, I blamed it on the sleeping aid I took (yeah, I'm dim sometimes). I only just realized it's probably from the OTC cold medicine I've been taking. The box says to consult a physician if you're troubled with sleeplessness, so I'll do that tomorrow, but it doesn't help me much now.

And of course, I've been drinking soda all day to soothe my throat, and the caffeine is just making it worse I'm sure.

I can be a real dolt sometimes, and I'm supposed to know about these things.

Posted by pH (Member # 1350) on :

I'm having that problem too, kq. And every time I try to go to bed, I start worrying about eight thousand things that usually happened in the past and that I can no longer do anything about.

I just took half an ativan. I'm going to go curl up in my stifling hot room and pray for a miracle.

-pH

Posted by quidscribis (Member # 5124) on :

kq, I'm not an ordinary pink person, but this is Hot! Hot! Hot! pink. And it's a wild pattern. [Big Grin]

Although the nightgown material is also a pink floral, but it just kinda made sense for a nightgown. *shrugs* Well, I'm still making them and enjoying them, and I might even take pictures of my projects once I'm done.

Oh, the voile cost me $0.45 a meter. Cool. [Cool]

I'm with you Evie- I'm usually online from 11 to 3. The only thing that stops me being up later is that I'm terrified of being awake when the sun comes up. Not really terrified I guess, but a very strong aversion.

Posted by ketchupqueen (Member # 6877) on :

Actually, the hot pinks and fuchsias are the worst. I can live with an antique rose or a very very pale baby pink better than them.

Would eating lots of garlic ward off vampires?

And if so...

Who would win in a fight, Mario or Dracula?

Posted by Evie3217 (Member # 5426) on :

Hmm....that's a hard question. It all depends on what kinds of power Mario has at the time. I mean, if he had the ability to breathe fire, or if he had the star that makes you invincible, then I would say that Mario would win. Otherwise, Dracula would totally kick butt.

Posted by pfresh85 (Member # 8085) on :

Part of the question would be where and when are they fighting. I mean Mario definitely has the advantage during the day (as long as they are outdoors). Dracula's got the nocturnal and somewhat indoor (assuming the indoor area is dark) advantage.

Posted by quidscribis (Member # 5124) on :

And I'm currently sewing two aprons from aforementioned intended-as-tablecloth material. [Big Grin] I also remembered that my sister left behind some burgundy material, cut into strips for an art project that she changed her mind about, and they match the burgundy in the apron fabric perfectly, soooooo they're becoming the apron ties.

Which will be criss-crossed across the back and secured with button & button hole.

I hate aprons that hang around the neck. I feel like I'm choking.

And to kq:

[Taunt]

Posted by Evie3217 (Member # 5426) on :

My friend just also made the point that a vampire could turn into a bat and just fly around while Mario's star wore off. Then he could beat him. I thought it was a good point. I figured I would share.

Posted by Rico (Member # 7533) on :

Aha! But Mario has so many different suits to match each occasion:

- He's got the frog suit so he can dive underwater

- He can eat leaves and grow some ears and a tail and start flying

- He could eat some mushrooms and get bigger

- He could get a giant shoe and stomp on Dracula

Also he has his trusty sidekick yoshi, so he could have yoshi eat Dracula and spit him out as fire!

Oh and plus, he's Italian so he eats lots of food with a high garlic content regularly. He's also very athletic for being so short and stout.

Posted by Vasslia Cora (Member # 7981) on :

But Dracula has different powers as well:

-He can turn into a bat.

-He can turn into fog/smoke.

-He can command rats.

-He can command wolfs.

-He can't be stopped by a door.

-He turn sleeping people in to slaves.

And he has his servant Renfield who eats animals and bugs, live.

I thought that went without saying. [Smile]

Posted by Vasslia Cora (Member # 7981) on :

I forgot Dracula can control the weather near him.

Dracula would make Peach a vampire too and Peach would get Mario or it would make Mario want to fight less.

Dracula would just turn into fog until Mario ran out of stars.

But Dracula has a few weakness' anybody know what they are?

Posted by Rico (Member # 7533) on :

Of course!

Maybe I'll pop back in here tomorrow. I think I may go read The Stand by Stephen King right now and then go to bed.

I still think Mario would win though, he even has a cape!

Posted by Vasslia Cora (Member # 7981) on :

I used to think that. Got through 2 years of college on naps. I can still pull up to 3 all-nighters in a row, but on a daily basis, I need 7 or more hours of sleep a night.

Maybe it was something about turning 20 or my body preparing for thesis next year, but I feel old. I went out partying last night, only had a few beers and was asleep by 3:30am. I got up at noon and still had to take a nap in the afternoon.

I'm only up now cause I'm Christmas shopping.

Consequently, beddie-bye time was between 7-8:00 p.m.

I'm living on the edge tonight, though, let me tell you . . . *grin*

I can't, at least not without a dictionary, but I did fine anyway. I guessed the night before what the listening bit would be on and how it would be formatted, and I was write.

Then we played Jeopardy in class and my group (only three of us were contributing at all) did so much better than everyone else that the teacher didn't bother doing double jeopardy because there was no way anyone could beat us. [Big Grin]

Haha ... do the math. Anyways, I'm leaving now. I am no longer going to be 'still up'. I am going to bed and hopefully sleep in and eagerly await a reply. To the email. Not to this. Yeah. G'night.

Rico- I was obsessed with wolves when I was younger. Originally I wanted Black Wolf, but it wasn't available through yahoo. I tried different combinations until blacwolve went through. That was about 7 years ago, and I've been using it ever since. I'm the only one on the internet, which is sort of nice.

So ... how bout it? Anyone still up? I'm trying to get to 200 posts before I go to sleep and this is the only thread that I feel comfortable posting absolutely nothing on. But only once if no one responds ... Then I'll wait for someone to answer me in either Begging the Question or Word Assosciations. hehe. I'm horrible.

I'm up lurking around because I don't have much to say, like you, this is the only thread that I can post in...I saw that you went to Narnia. I can't wait to see that. I was concerned that the witch didn't look "witchy" and ruthless enough in the trailers. What did you think?

Posted by Dr Strangelove (Member # 8331) on :

Precisely my thoughts. She was creepy to be sure, but not as ... well, scarily powerful. She's supposed to be what, 7 feet tall? She wasn't very awe inspiring. Just kinda ... eyuk. She did a decent job ... it wasn't a huge problem. But its definately something I would've changed.

Posted by sweetbaboo (Member # 8845) on :

Huh. That's too bad. I'm still excited to see it. What is the age limit you'd consider taking kids to see it? (I'm tired so I don't know if I worded that very well.) Congrats on your 200th post though!

:-D. Thanks! Umm ... There isn't any blood whatsoever (maybe a damp spot at one point, but nothing really). The battle scenes are pretty well done. No violence is really highlighted overmuch. It really could have been much more intense. The parts that could have been intense were pretty much cut short. But that said, there are still battle scenes and there is death and some creepy creatures (I thought the minotaur was a bit goofy myself). so if the child is easily scared, it might be questionable. But overall I think its nothing worse than what you'd see on ... say ... oh crapola. I can't think of anything comparable. Oh well. If you want a specific age limit, I'd say most 8 year olds I know would be able to handle it.

and btw, the soundtrack is freaking awesome! I absolutely loved it

I agree, I didn't think the witch was very menacing, or whatever she was supposed to be.

Good to know. I read the book to both my 9 yr old and my 6 yr old and I'm pondering taking them. They've enjoyed the early Harry Potter movies (I won't let them see this last one though) but I've waited until they were out on DVD so we could watch them at home with the lights on and such. So I think if they can handle that, they should be ok.

Posted by Dr Strangelove (Member # 8331) on :

I was sort of dissapointed in the wolves. They were a bit too CGI. The growly voices seened overdone. And ... ummm ... trying to think of anything else I didn't like about the movie ... ummm ... no, I think everything else was acceptable. A bit cheesy at parts, but overall a great movie. And may I say, they did a sUPERB job on Mr. Tumnus

It's nearly 6am, and I'm still up.

Really, though. The cold medicine is warping my mind.

And also, my roommate had a pretty crazy party which, although small, still led to people making out in our hallway and then going into our bathroom and refusing to come out despite the fact that other people had to pee. I think some things were broken. The music was really loud. And I didn't have a drink all night, being sick and on the crazy cold meds. Therefore, the party was more of an annoyance, whereas had I been drinking, I would've had a helluva time and possibly attempted to become one of the hallway maker-outers.

I couldn't get the thread I needed for a dress I want to sew. The place I normally go to for thread was closed (they have a great selection), so went to the little 2'x3' booth thingy instead, and they didn't have the right colors. [Frown] I'll have to try again next week at the first place and hope they're open.

But I did manage to get burgundy bias tape, so I can finish my aprons. Except I forgot buttons, so I'll have to use safety pins instead until I can get da buttons. [Smile]

And I got a thimble that fits! I have big hands and big fingers - men's medium or larger gloves only, please don't try to fool me with a women's large, it won't fit - and they had one that actually fit! You have no idea how difficult this has been for me in the past!

-----

And now that we've had our land line connection for a year and two months, we FINALLY get a telephone directory.

Yay.

-----

We watched an Asian French movie today. Thai film, filmed in Thailand with mostly Thai people speaking... French. All French. Not dubbed, and excellent accents.

Les Fils de Vent. Pretty incredible stunts, no CGI from what I read, and graceful as these dudes and dudette jump all over buildings from here to there and back again and... Building jumpers, I think they're called.

Plot ain't great, no character development to speak of, but the action is entertaining and fun to watch.

And I even understood bits and pieces of the French. [Smile]

Yeah, it's been an exciting day. [Big Grin]

So. Its pretty late, but not too late here in sunny Florida. Got down to a brisk 42 degrees tonight, but was in the 60's most of the day. Nasty wreck on I4 this morning on my way to work. Luckily I just spent the whole day mucking out a lake. Wonderful. And then I spent the evening with two of the funnest people I know. And I was going to be an idiot, but decided against it. I've found that when dealing with people, Occams Razor tends to work marvelously, and when it doesn't, know one can blame you.

I'm sort of frustrated though. I can't help but feel like I'm holding my friend back. Its my insecurities ... I feel as though I have nothing to offer while everyone else has tons. It's like if I really truly cared for her I would back off and let her be happy hanging out with other people.

But that is bad talk! I can't think like that. That is why I should not stay up late! I depress myself. She is perfectly capable of making her own decisions, and if by some weird quirk of fate, there is something in me which draws her, so be it! It makes me happy. And gosh darn it, I'm going to enjoy being happy.

So tonight I also chugged one of those little cups of ketchup they give you at fast food resturants. Got $1.10 for it too. Every penny counts.

And I'm rambling horribly, but thats what this thread is for, right?

So I ask someone "If I go to X college, will you come too?". Someone says "sure". Now time gets neared and someone is saying that they very well may not go to the college I have decide upon. It saddens me, as I'm quite scared of going away to college.

nyah nyah! Imma get my Bachelor's degree by age 19!

And then I'm going to be lost without a purpose in this word. So sad.

So I'm going horseback riding tomorrow. On some very skittish horses. I suppose I should get a good nights rest. Goodnight.

So in other news, its quite possible I may be clinically insane. What started out as a great day turned into a crappy night involving me huddled in the corner of a bathroom, and then sitting watching my friends bowl while oddly enough unable to move my legs. And when I did regain control of my legs, my arms went, and started shaking uncontrollably. Not a good feeling, let me tell ya.

dr strangelove, having a 'diagnosis' isn't the be-all end-all of sanity. I actually highly doubt your 'insane' and it doesn't seem you've got a formal thought disorder. A diagnosis is just a step towards treatment of a medical condition, means they've figured out what's wrong and can get along to treating it.

I do understand the inherent distrust of psychologists. I used to have that trust as well. But therapy and medication (and you're welcome to email or AIM me about the story) have give me my life back.

...and that control that you speak of.

So. I just got back from a Man-Jama party. Kinda was a bust, considering it was for college age students and I'm only in college by a technicality. The only two other guys I knew there were like me, technically college students, but not university students. So we played Halo for about 7 hours. Not a bad way to spend the night. But now I come home and something is making noises in my attic. Rather loud, disturbing noises. If I weren't so tired, I would go up and see if some homeless man found a place to live up there. But I am tired. And that dangable noise is keeping me awake. Oh, the quandry's of life.

I'm in the throes of writing a good story. I've discovered that this can be more intoxicating than reading a good story.

Consequently, I can't sleep because I'm obsessing. Of course, I'm a night owl anyway, so that's hardly a shock.

I just feel this bubbly euphoria, full of joy that this wonderful story actually came out of my imagination. I've written many stories in the past. I don't always feel this. In fact, I don't think I've EVER felt quite this strongly about my writing. So I'm indulging myself. It IS a good story.

Better than "Respite".

So my friend's dad bought Firefly. Just got home from watching a few of the episodes ... War Stories was the last one we watched. Good stuff, good stuff. Such a good show. Anyways, to continue rambling, I finally got permission to have a computer in my room. Makes a lot more sense than keeping it on the porch. so tomorrow I have to clean my room. Really exciting. And fill out college apps. Even more exciting. But right now I'm off to go play my new computer game - Smugglers 3. Makes me feel like I'm in Serenity. hehe. g'night all.

So. If anyone cares ... ya know the whole teenage angst thread I posted a while back? And how it ended with a happy ending? Short summary: I tell best friend I like her, she says she needs distance, I struggle with that, then come to accept it, at which time she first says she just wants to be friends like we were again, and then, much to my suprise, says she'd like to try out a romantic relationship.

Well, the trying out ended tonight. Turns out she can't think of me as anything other than a friend. In my opinion she didn't give it enough of a chance, but oddly enough, we are much stronger friends because of this. Now that we've tried it out, it's really kind of removed the last barrier between a really awesome friendship. So its good. But also bad. Because I really liked holding her hand.

And the only reason I'm posting it in this thread is because I didn't feel like creating a whole new thread and I have a particular affinity for this thread. It's been with me all theough my brief posting career, always available to write in late at night when I'm struggling with something or just want to tell someone something but everyone else is asleep. I love this thread.

I'm having a long, involved discussion about the social and psychological effects of the fat man/hot chick coupling in the media.

-pH

Posted by Evie3217 (Member # 5426) on :

Wow. that sounds really interesting. What's your take on the subject?

Posted by pH (Member # 1350) on :

One of the reasons why in-shape women don't have a problem being with fat slobs is because the combination is everywhere, which also creates this expectation in a lot of men that they "deserve" a super hot wife, even if they've totally let themselves go.

My latest annoyance is this ad for that "I Want That" tv show. The husband is like plastered to the tv, and he's like, "Honey, we have GOT to get one of these."

The camera changes to the wife, who's sitting on the couch and is athletic and beautiful, and she says, "Honey, I can't see the tv when you do that."

Then he gets up. And he has a huge belly.

-pH

Posted by Evie3217 (Member # 5426) on :

That makes complete sense. It shows today's society that men can have their pick of women, while women have to settle for a man that doesn't respect her, and frankly, isn't very attractive.

Posted by pH (Member # 1350) on :

Pretty much. I think it's really sad.

We also seem to judge a man's attractiveness partly on the attractiveness of his wife, but we judge a woman's attractiveness solely on its own. And much more in a physical sense, whereas men can be cherismatic or gentle or any other number of attractive, positive traits.

-pH

Posted by Evie3217 (Member # 5426) on :

Wait, say more about that. I got sort of lost when you said
quote:
We also seem to judge a man's attractiveness partly on the attractiveness of his wife
But I agree whole-heartedly on the fact that women get judged purely on their looks, whereas men are judged by more emotional qualities.

I guess you have to look at the person who's doing the judging, though. Men are more prone to take things at face value, while women are more likely to look deeper into the emotions of a person, thus finding him attractive. Does that make any sense?

I'm not saying that it's acceptable, but I think it has to do partly with the female and male psyche.

Posted by pH (Member # 1350) on :

See, I think at least partly, men are CONDITIONED to take things more at face value, whereas women are conditioned more to look deeper into things.

As for judging the attractivenes of a man on his wife, it's like...an average-looking guy with some super mega hot wife is suddenly a stud. The same does not hold as true for an average-looking woman with a super mega hot husband.

-pH

Posted by Evie3217 (Member # 5426) on :

Yeah, I guess that makes sense about the attractiveness of a woman rubbing off on a man. I would have to disagree, however, with the idea that we are always conditioned that way. I think it's a combination of both learned and innate traits. Who can tell where one starts and the other begins?

I'm not disagreeing with you in the sense that I believe the whole situation is wrong and should be rectified. I wish we all saw each other as people resting on our own merits, not assuming that a woman is a trophy and the man who has her is the king because of it.

Posted by pH (Member # 1350) on :

I don't think it's entirely a conditioned thing, but I think a good part of it is.

Like the idea that it's okay and reasonable for men to watch pornography even if their girlfriends/wives aren't comfortable with it because "men are visual."

I'm not saying that I personally have a problem with porn, but if it makes your partner uncomfortable...

-pH

Posted by Evie3217 (Member # 5426) on :

Yeah, that makes sense. There are some aspects that are conditioned, and can just as easily be treated as such, like your exaple above.

The hard part will be, however, how are we going to instill these changes into a heavily conditioned society? I mean, we can groan about it all we want, but how can that change come about?

I don't know, I'm just rambling. I think I'm going to try and go to sleep. Night!

Why do you need a ridiculously long, detailed analysis for something you just summed up nicely in 7 words?

Posted by pH (Member # 1350) on :

Because I also have to consider things like industry growth vs. global GDP growth, yearly income for four individual companies...and I have to do a SWOT analysis for each company....

And then I have to pick one of the companies and pick twelve countries and use a bunch of random factors to narrow them down to five countries that are the "most viable" for expansion....and divide those five into two different specific markets based on common factors...

-pH

It's soooooo boring.

Fortunately, I've already decided on what company I'm going to choose and done the country analysis part, for the most part. That was actually really interesting. It's just tracking down the idiotic little facts about the four companies...and doing the actual SWOT analysis....and writing up the industry trend summary with, like, real sources.

[Wall Bash]

I hate SWOT analyses more than anything.

I took a short break to continue painting my cabinets. I'm going to be very sad when this painting project is finished; it gives me the opportunity to be creative and artistic and detail-obsessed and incredibly focused all at the same time. It's very good stress relief.

-pH

Posted by Lyrhawn (Member # 7039) on :

Really? Sounds like added stress to me. Much as I love to do the things I am artistically creative at (writing, in my case), it can be just as stressful as it can be stress relief depending on the circumstance.

Just the other day I sat down to try and work on some of the plot outlines and character outlines for my big project and I found I was forcing myself to write when usually it all comes very freely, and the stuff I was coming up with was just horrible an cliche sounding. So I scrapped it all, which wasted an hour or two of my life, and went to work on something else.

Fortunately, while the story writing vibe wasn't there, the music writing vibe was, and I made some decent progress on my musical. Funny how hobbies can be both the one thing that calms me the most, and on the flip side can also be the thing that frustrates me the most.

Posted by pH (Member # 1350) on :

Well, I'm painting my cabinets the most spectacular color, and whenever I'm stressed out, it really helps me to do something like that. Once, I was really stressed out about work, and I got a bowl of grapes and tried to peel them all with a butterknife in one piece.

Stalkers are more often than not well meaning. They're just very out of touch with what the other person is thinking. Be very blunt about your lack of interest/ dislike and he'll probably go away.

Oh, I have a creepy stalker story. Once this guy watched me sleep. We were on a club ski trip, and I randomly woke up early and he was standing over me. Just, you know, watching. I pretended to still be asleep, but he stayed there until other people began to wake up.

After we got back from the trip, he tried to make friends with my friends and he would hang out in my dorm's lounge even though he lived somewhere else entirely. Once my friend came across him standing outside my door. I was in the room at the time, but he hadn't knocked or anything. So...he was just standing there.

Kind of creepy, right? Or am I just paranoid...

Anyway. It's four here. Anyone up?

Posted by dab (Member # 7847) on :

maybe he just had a crush on you and was too shy to follow up on it... but yeah that does sound a little creepy. I think where it gets really creepy though is when you express your disinterest in this person and they continue to do this behavior.
