I was listening to the radio the other day and they played a Pink Floyd song that was about 10 minutes (maybe more). It is a popular one but I cannot remember enough of the lyrics to Google it. Anyone help me out here?

Comfortably Numb clocks in at 9 and a half. . .is that what you have in mind?

Run Rabbit Run?

Which is what Bernie needs to do... after what he did in my room!!!!

No, not Comfortably Numb. It had a little bit faster beat than that, and a really catchy tune.

And I'm sure it wasn't Another Brick in the Wall. I do know that song.

Pink Floyd have A LOT of songs ten minutes or more. Do you remember any of the lyrics? Or what the song was about? Or anything more detailed that could help?

Syn, you mean "Breathe"?

I have consulted my guru of Pink Floyd knowledge and his best guesses for "popular" and "catchy tune" would be Money or Run Like Hell, though neither is 10 minutes they are fairly long.

Not "Breathe" I am sure it was over 10 minutes and it was catchy and popular.

Was it a live version by any chance? Because for Pink Floyd and live versions the normal song length is right out the window.

Hey You? Wish you were here?

Probably Shine On You Crazy Diamond. That's the only long one I ever hear on the radio, and even that's only once in a blue moon.

Here's what they've got over 6 minutes

Dogs? Pigs? Sheep? From the Animals album? Those all run over ten minutes, I believe.

Pigs is certainly catchy.

Ha ha, charade you are.

That's quite possibly the first time a pun didn't automatically elicit a groan from me. [Razz]

Was it "Time?"

OK. Yeah, this is pretty embarrassing. It's actually a Led Zeppelin song. [Blushing]

Now, can we start over? A 10 minute-ish song, popular.....

--Pink Floyd and LZ fans may now start the beatings--

What Led Zeppelin song? Kashmir? Achilles Last Stand? Stairway to Heaven?

Posted by TomDavidson (Member # 124) on :

I'm guessing "Stairway," personally.

Posted by T_Smith (Member # 3734) on :

I don't think so, Tom. I'm putting my money on Kashmir.

Rain Song, How Many More Times?

Posted by Valentine014 (Member # 5981) on :

No, not Stairway to Heaven. I'm familiar with that one.

Posted by T_Smith (Member # 3734) on :

Well.... tell us! Which one?

Posted by Valentine014 (Member # 5981) on :

IT IS KASHMIR!! Thank you so much, Nathan!

Yay!
