Today I got a call from my old Young Men's leader. He called me to let me know that my old friend from YM, named Lex, was killed in Iraq today.
It's been a couple of years since I've seen Lex, so it's come as quite a shock, but other than that I just feel very numb right now.
I still don't know any of the details about how he died so expect to see a more in-depth thread soon, but I needed to tell somebody about this.

(((Epictetus))) And yes, I do know what it is like to lose a friend. You never trully move on depending on how close you ever were. We just need to try.

(((Epicetus))) Oh man, that sucks. Hang in there man. I too have lost a friend this year, though not to the war. If you need a friendly ear, you have mine.

((Epictetus)) I'm so sorry. My brother actually just called me crying because one of his friends was killed in a car accident. If you need someone to talk to, I'm always here. I've been told that I'm a great listener.
