If I were living in Ireland, Scotland, Wales or England during the early years of Roman occupation, what would I call myself? Not the Roman terms, but the ancient Celtic terms. In fact I believe I may have even read that the term 'celtic' was attributed to those cultures in the middle ages. If I were a 1st Century C.E. citizen of the "White Isle" or the "Summer Isle" what would I be called????

Well, the problem is that languages change so much through the years. It is true that Cymry is the welsh name for 'Wales'. Unfortunately, the earliest dates for Early Welsh go back to only the 6th Century.

You'd refer to yourself by clan, most likely, or kingdom. Icenii, Demetae, and the like.
