I thought this was funny, and that you might enjoy it too.

Good on her!

Okay, it's kinda funny that the guy had to honk his horn to wake her up before she started crossing the road, but the rest... Most excellent! *teehee*

[ROFL] That was a good way to start the morning.

[Cry] <-- tears are actually springing from my eyes with laughter. That is an absolute riot!

Beware the oblivious old ladies!

That was great.

That was very funny....until she has to pay for the airbag, anyway....

Now I didn't have any sound, and as funny as that was, I feel bad for that guy.

I don't. If you'd had sound, you'd have heard that he was gunning his engine and repeatedly honking. He was being a jerk, and he deserved what he got.

Posted by Strider (Member # 1807) on :

yeah, that's why i thought i might be missing something.

Mmm. The old lady 'jerks into action' a good half-second before the guy honks his horn the first time. But apart from that it's pretty funny.

He didn't deserve what he got. He shouldn't have honked the second time, but he did not deserve to have his airbag deployed, which could have broken his nose and at minimum will cost him several hundred dollars.

Of course, this is almost certainly fake to begin with.

Yes, but that also may just be the sound off. If you listen, the time between her hitting the car and the sound of her hitting the car is about the same as what you mentioned.

Oh, I would say it's definitely fake. As KoM pointed out, she jumps early, and the "airbag" doesn't come out with near the force that I thought airbags did.

But, for me, it's the repeated honking (not just a second time, but over and over) and the gunning of the engine that just screams karma to me (and that's what makes it funny).

In a frontal collision against a solid barrier, airbags deploy for an 8milesperhour/13kilometresperhour crash. Which is about equivalent to being hit in a parked car by a similar-sized vehicle moving at 16mph/26kph. They are not supposed to deploy at much below that impact momentum.

If the video ain't fake, either that's a ton-or-so purse being swung by Superman disguised as a little ol' lady, or the dude is gonna get a Mercedes-sized financial settlement from Daimler-Chrysler.

Someone's always got to complain. Try to put a smile on people's faces and they just got to critique. [Razz] [Razz]

It's definitely fake. It's a clip from a commercial for somethign or other (can't remember what off the top of my head). Doesn't mean that it isn't funny though.

It's ok, I was only joking with my comment anyway (hence the 2 Graemlins [Razz] [Razz] )

The guy is getting out of the car at the end of the clip. Am I the only one who thought "uh oh, he's going to jump out and hurt her"?

That's a funny clip. The kids on skateboards at the start really lend it verisimilitude, as does the chuckling of the cameraperson.
