We're thinking Wok Village and King Kong. Anyone else? [Smile]

I had Chinese food yesterday, but if the local Mexican place is open, my friend and I might go there. If not, it's vodka & Cokes, Christmas cookies, and an all-day Babylon 5 marathon for us [Smile]

Sounds great, Stray. If I remember correctly, this has been a year of changes for you, and I'm glad you will be spending the day with a friend. [Smile]

Hey Zeugma, are you psyched for the brand new stadium seating theater at Pyramid?

Yeah, CT, it's been quite a rollercoaster of a year. But I have some of the best friends ever *warmfuzzies*

Actually, I think we are going to do Chinese today, China Buffett. Then go visit family. They'll have desserts for us I'm sure.

Perhaps a movie later. Already saw KK-do not want to see it again, so we'll probably see Geisha.

I'm so glad, Stray. [Smile]

As for my house, today we eat the fruits of the labours of yesterday and this morning. Just me and Dave, nice and quiet-like. Catching up on cleaning and paperwork, doing some reading. The spread: baked ham, dressing, cranberries, carmelized butternut squash, cream of asparagus soup, cole slaw, pumpkin pie, apple pie, whipped cream, wine, mulled cider.

*sigh

Yum. No cooking for at least another four days. [Big Grin]

None of the Chinese or Thai places I like are open today, unfortunately. I had intended to get pizza, but that was before I googled the nutritional values for the pizza places I typically go to (holy crap! They make frozen pizza look like health food!).

So, my plan now is to go out to an Asian grocery store that does happen to be open and get some fresh holy basil, kii noo chilies, and shoestring cut bamboo and make a basil chicken stir fry.

Stray, what mexican?

We had Avers pizza last night, today is more traditional but I did introduce my family to hummus.

We did go eat Chinese today and it was awesome! The place was packed with people. No movie, reading new books sounded like more fun.

I am so glad I didn't have to work today. (I work at a movie theatre). We aren't allowed to request off any holidays but my manager likes me so I got to work Christmas Eve, which is always slow and we close early, instead. Even for an extra buck an hour I wouldn't have dealt with movie crowds. I bet it was crazy despite no big movie releases today.

There were a surprising number of people at the 3:30 showing of Kong, actually! We even had our usual trouble finding a parking spot. [Smile] And the Chinese food was great, and we actually ended up being able to light the menorah and sing Hanukkah songs with Mark's family a thousand miles away over video chat, which worked surprisingly well. [Smile]

The only unpleasant part of the day, and this is really silly and weird, was when we were killing time playing the ridiculously old video games at the movie theater, the exact same games I used to play as a kid 10 years ago. Almost as soon as we started playing, a 13 year old kid with some really lacking social skills started coming over and loudly telling us what we should be doing to win, even after we asked him to leave us alone. He followed us from game to game, and during a driving game looked like he may actually take the wheel from Mark and steer for him! It was very strange! [Dont Know]

We went out to see The Producers and went to the Chinese Buffet place. Sadly, they should've shut down the buffet and just done a la carte yesterday. They didn't have enough customers to make it cost-effective to keep a buffet fresh. Disappointed.

The movie was fun, though.
