And by they, I mean the people who helped Big Momma's House 2 to have the second highest opening for January movies. Granted, it didn't have much competition, but I would consider staying home and saving the money to be a perfectly good alternative.

I would say something negative about the people who would see a movie like Big Momma's House 2, but then I realize everyone has different opinions and I could easily be criticized for what I watch.

Also, you have consider what other movies came out the same weekend. Not that it's really an excuse, but it could explain some reasoning behind the grand opening.
