Okay, I just bought a cell phone on ebay and put my sim card in and all is fine and dandy except that i cant get the old contacts off of the phone. It tells me I need a security code to delete them and I'm not sure where the contacts from my phone are....Help!!!!

Have you successfully moved the contacts to your new phone, and only need to delete them off the old one?

What brand and model is the phone?

The security codes are typically something like "00000" or "01234". If you search the phone make and what you need, I bet you can find them listed online.

Okay, new probem... I selected for the phone to just use sim card memory and not the phone's old memory....but now its saying that the contacts list is empty!!!

Erosomniac... No, what I'm trying to do is access the contacts list from my sim card in the new phone.

El Jt.. It's a nokia 3100b

Then your phone had saved contacts to internal memory, no the SIM card, and you will either need to figure out how to copy them from the internal memory to the SIM card, or bite the bullet and re-enter them manually.

okay...that makes sense...any idea how to try transferring contacts to sim card memory on the old phone? (its a motorola v220)

It's also possible that the two phones do not have compatible contact lists. This wouldn't surprise me, actually - cellular manufacturers wouldn't do something that would make it convenient for you to buy a different brand of phone.

Okay, so in a stroke of brilliance (majorly kidding of course) I looked through the old phone and figured out how to transfer the contacts to sim memory...yay!! [Big Grin] thanks again erosomniac!

I know who I'll ask for help if I ever get a cell phone and don't know how to use it.
