I just finished puting together my first computer about a week ago and since I had used a 64 bit processer i figured Windows XP X64 Pro would be a good OS. But at the time I did not realize that many 32-bit porgrams will not run on a 64-bit OS . So I wanted to know if anyone had a way to run these programs on this computer short of dumping X64 and going with regular XP for now. Please help.
The Wiggin I let my mind wander and it never came back.

Or if you don't know how to do this can you point me the direction of a cheap copy of reg. XP.
The Wiggin I'm out of my mind please leave a message.

32-bit programs should run in compatibility mode in X64. I don't know if it does it automatically. Would help to know which programs aren't working, of course.

Mainly 1 game (Sacred), I havent found any really good anti-virus yet, and then it was partly drivers but i fixed that by buying a $30 Sound Card and am looking at a slightly better Video card since ATI doesn't have 64-bit drivers for anything below a 9500 Radeon and currently have a 9250. And yes I have e-mailed the company about the game.

My new computer came with XP64. It was sluggish as all get out and it crashed when I turned on my external hard drive. I eventually installed normal XP.

And you won't for a while, I'm afraid.

Also does anyone know of a cheap wireless net card that will work with X64?
