And that is a CD burning program that doesn't fink out on me in the middle of a burn.

No matter how low I set the burning speed, the damn thing won't just finish the burn. I've tried Windows Media and MusicMatch. I'd try RealPlayer, but it says it needs to upgrade itself before it can convert wma files.

Any suggestions/burner recommendations?

Personally, I've never had a problem with iTunes. Oh, wait. . .

Shush. I've been too lazy to reset my Napster settings to make it compatible with the burner. I haven't even TRIED burning with Napster yet.

Well, strikes me that that should be your first avenue, then. I mean, I'd rather try a program I already have an like than go find something completely new.

Nero has worked well for us.

pH, I think you're setting your sights too low. What about wanting world piece or a fancy car? A good CD burning is just not imaginative enough. [Smile]

For converting music cds to your computer library, Cdex works pretty good and is very intuitive.

I have never tried CDBurnerXP, but I have heard good things about that program.

I use the free version of Deep Burner. While Deep Burner is not as intuitive or user friendly (in my humble opinion), I have never had a problem with it. It does data, music, iso, et cetera just fine.

I heard about CDBurnerXP after I got Deep Burner. Since I am used to DB, I have never bothered trying CDBXP. However, people who have used CDBXP tend to like it better then DB.

EDIT: spelling and added last paragraph

Wow. I can't spell. I'm a dork. Forgive me for my grave spelling error. *waits for tomatoes to be thrown at her head*

I already have a fancy car. [Wink] And conflict in the world keeps the rest of you busy while I make my next move. By the time you realize what's going on, it will be too late.

I use Nero.

Are you sure it's not the hardware?

The three files I Linked to are all free.

Turns out, I didn't have the Napster burning software installed in the first place. I will give the other programs a shot too, though.

pH,

I'm sorry, but that should be:

"By the time you realize what's going on, it will be too late.

Mwu Ha Ha Ha!"

It's that "Mwu Ha Ha Ha!" that really makes it work.

Are you trying to burn your CDs at too fast a rate? Or, maybe you need a new CD Burner...you can get new CD/DVD/Everything burners for $50, new. They take, oh, about 1 minute to install.

But, more importantly, please remember the "Mwu Ha Ha Ha!" That's better.

[Edited to add the italics. You need the "Mwu Ha Ha Ha!" and the italics. Sorry for any confusion.]

I second boothby, I just bought a DVD/CD burner/reader combo for about $55. I'd recommend Lite-On or Samsung for DVD brands. The quality of the discs is another factor.

Of course, it may not be the software or burner, but other factors. What are your computers specs?

And for the record, Nero has always given me great burns. Never had errors except for user stupidity. [Big Grin]

Oh, my burner's fine...it's a CD-RW/DVD combo. My computer, for some reason, just enjoys periodically deciding it doesn't exist.

I think maybe they're having marital problems, and Oberon's learned to give the silent treatment.

And this doesn't strike you as a possible reason you're having issues, instead of the software?

No, considering that it has been recognizing the existence of the drive lately. But thanks. I so needed someone to point out that I cannot burn CDs if my computer doesn't think it has a CD drive. [Roll Eyes]

I fixed it anyway; once I installed the Napster burn engine, it worked quite nicely and much more quickly than Windows Media or MusicMatch. I kind of want Nero, too. But I also THINK that the Napster burner runs off of Nero or something, for some reason.
