Fahim's too lazy to post this himself [Razz] so I get elected to do it. He submitted a short story to IGMS, but didn't receive a confirmation email that the submission had been received. The guidelines on the IGMS site say to expect about three months after submission before he'll hear back.

For those of you who've submitted to IGMS - did you receive a confirmation email? As in, should Fahim have received one as well? Or how does he know his submission has been received?

I've been trying to submit one for awhile. But I don't have the proper software for it and the people won't tell me an address to mail the manuscript too.

Though, if it says to expect a confirmation e-mail, I would assume an e-mail is coming. I think the best bet is to wait patiently awhile longer.

It says to expect a confirmation? Where? Evidently, both Fahim and I missed that, so if you can provide me a link, I'd sure appreciate it. [Smile]

What software don't you have that you need? And why not just email the submission in?

I apologize. I was confused. When you said:

I thought you meant to expect a confirmation e-mail in three months. That is my misunderstanding. Now that that mistake has been pointed out, I've got nothing.

I have a Mac computer, and it says to submit the story as a Word attachment and not in the body of the e-mail. Or something along those lines. Anywho, the Mac doesn't have Microsoft Word and the computer is too confusing and I can't figure out how to save the document as Rich-Text Format.

Oh. Thanks for clarification on both points.

With whatever word processing program you have, you should be able to do a "Save As", then there should be a drop down menu at the bottom of that dialogue box that gives you the allowable file types, which should include Rich Text Format.

Does that help at all?

Actually, it does. Thank you very much.

Oh. That was easy. [Smile] Let me know if you have any more problems. [Smile] I'd hate for something as silly as a computer program stop you from submitting to IGMS. [Razz]

Fahim says, "Tell him he's a disgrace to Captain America's name." Oh. Um, hi, Captain America! [Big Grin]

I'm not a disgrace to Captain America's name. Most names have spaces between the first and last. I don't see one in my username. Aha! Circles of logic.

Ah, well, since you insist... [Razz]

But seriously, is there no one out there who has an answer to my, er, Fahim's, IGMS question? Anyone? Anyone?

I submitted to IGMS and got a response about 3 months later. I never got a confirmation that they received my story, though.

Thanks, Gaal! At least now we know that him not receiving a confirmation is standard. [Smile]

I submitted about a month ago and have yet to hear anything as well. No confirmation is coming, I think...

As long as we're speaking of IGMS, I'd like to know when we can expect the next issue to come out. I'm sorry I can't help you, quid, but maybe some else can.

Thanks estavares - it's nice to have confirmation. [Smile] OSC, if you read this, would you kindly consider adding autoresponders to the IGMS submission email addy? It would be nice to know that the submission was received. [Smile]

Audeo - I don't have a clue, but I've changed the thread title, so hopefully that'll attract the attention of someone who knows.
