Billions in tax credits...

Hmmmm...all I need is some tar, some coal, and a sprayer system. I can lose $200 million up front and then recoup it (and a profit) with the $700 million tax credit...

This is rich. Coming from the party that argues renewable energy isn't profitable by itself, they give billions to companies that aren't even making fuel?

Can't say I'm surprised though. What will surprise me is if someone is actually able to kill that section of the bill. But the gall at those who are actually DEFENDING that provision is insulting.

Looks like yet another Republican corruption scheme. But that's Washington for you.

Government can get people to do anything it want them to do with taxes. If you want population control, tax children. If you want a population increase, then provide tax breaks for children. If you want viable alternative fuel systems, provide tax breaks for them. It works. (over time) However, if you start to screw up the process with a false sense of morality (Corporate Thievery) it will take longer. This has served us well since cities first rose up out of the Mesopotamian mud.
