Aiua asked tips for interviews and I thought that a lot of the advice was excellent.
However, I have an interview coming up and I thought I was prepared, but it turns out that I am going to be interviewed in a 'group setting'. I ask all of you:
1. Are you familiar with the format of group interviews? 2. How can I stand out? 3. Any specific advice on what NOT to do?
I thought I had everything under control! This is sooo frustrating as I am not comfortable speaking out in front of large groups of strangers (okay, that's probably pretty common), and I am terrible at 'participating', but I am excellent in one-on-one settings. When I am around others, I shrink.

*blink* Most of the "group interviews" I've had have been with groups of employers, NOT groups of prospective employees. I'd call the latter an "audition."

What are you interviewing for? What is the size of the group? Are they hiring for just one position? If you give a bit more info, I think I can probably give better advice.

I'm interviewing for a teaching position. I assume the group is fairly large and I get the sense we'll be broken up into smaller groups (5-10). It looks like we will have to give a 5 min teaching lesson (eek) and also answer questions about ourselves.
They aren't just hiring for one position, but I can't say definitely how many people they plan on hiring.
