For the past month or so I've been trying to find this story I read a while ago.
But, not having much to go on, I've had no success.

All that I can remember is this:
-I have this general feeling of white. Bright, clean, white. I don't know if it ever mentioned white, but it's a big feeling.
-I believe it was a short story, possibly in a collection with other writers.
-There was something about a small, wiry creature that got locked in a closet?
-Someone was lying on a bed.

Any ideas?

Wow. This could be a cool game.

Too bad I haven't the slightest idea which story it is, but I'll watch with interest to see if anyone else does. [Wink]

It's been a long time since I've read it, but you aren't by any chance thinking of Evelyn Lief's "Bed Sheets Are White" from Ellison's Again, Dangerous Visions anthology, are you?

No, that isn't ringing any bells.

-sigh-
And it's the perfect kind of day to curl up with a "white" story too. We've got close to three inches of snow. ._.

James Joyce is the only thing I read which gave feeling to 'white,' in "Ulysses." However, I don't recall a wiry creature. (been too many years... I just remember white being used as feeling white on a woman's skin.)

Or it could be the old 1960ish movie, "the brain that wouldn't die". very funny b type movie that is terribly boring with their philosophical views. However, it's the only thing I remember with a creature in the closet! (or that somewhat remake in the 80's with Steve Martin-don't recall the name).. seems that the brain in the jar mentioned something about a strong feeling with brightness.. ???) I dunno?!! LOL

Possibly one of James White's "Hospital Station" stories. I don't have them available now, but that sounds like one or two I vaguely remember.
