Check it out.

quote:
All you'll need is an original idea for a superhero, a killer costume, and some real superhero mojo. The winner of this six-week competition will walk away with their superhero immortalized in a new comic book created by Stan Lee himself. It gets better: The winning character will also appear in an original SCI FI Channel movie!

I nominate Noemon to try and get on the show.

Stan Lee isn't that great a writer...

Posted by aspectre (Member # 2222) on :

He doesn't hafta be: he's had a great instinct for choosing excellent creative talent.

Posted by Teshi (Member # 5024) on :

Shh, Scott, that's not the point!

As I said, not that great, if Stan Lee himself is doing the creating.

Gets better? Indeed?

This is like saying, "You get to listen to Muzak for the next 20 hours! Wait, it gets better! After that, you get to watch skunks mating live, and up close, and personal!

[Big Grin]

Such negativity.

*shakes head*

:suplexes Teshi:

Aha! Feel the power of Captain Patriarch, evil-doer!

Wooo... I should totally try out for it.

This is totally unnecessary for me. I'm ALREADY a Superhero. My Superhero Name is Tante Shvester, and my secret cover is, well, I'm not telling, because real Superheroes don't blow their own covers.

Real Superheroes also don't waste their precious time lying around reading comic books and vegging in front of the TV. That's for posers. Real Superheroes are far too busy saving the world and posting on Hatrack.

TANTE IS SECRETLY! *burst of light*

......Wait, what was I saying? Who am I? Where am I?

And why does my head hurt? [Confused]

Oof!

I didn't know there was a word for that. I had to look it up! The Oxford English Dictionary doesn't have it, although perhaps that's not surprising.

However, Wikipedia has a very extensive article, complete with pictures of men in little shorts.

Who knew there were so many variations?

Also: While typing this, I seem to have made my font size very large by mistake. How do I undo it?

Click on View, then go to Text Size, then decrease/smaller or increase/larger as needed.

Thanks aspectre.

No need to thank me, Miss. That's just what we superheroes do.

Cool contest! I don't know that I'm in the shape that I'd need to be to go anywhere in public in a spandex unitard, but I'm curious to see what kind of entries people actually submit. Maybe Primal Curve will reveal himself to the world as Capt. Cheese Cuttington?

Baby, I AM a superhero. [Wink]

But we've never seen you in spandex, Pearce.

<---wants to be suplexed. [Wink]

Hmmm, maybe I should submit my idea for Glamazon Warrior. She's a large and lovely superhero in pink and purple spandex, fighting crime and bad makeup wherever it occurs.

Posted by TomDavidson (Member # 124) on :

Karl, I would pay SERIOUS money for someone to go on the show as a superhero(ine) in drag. [Smile]

I read this before I went to work and my first reaction was that it's interesting but there's no way you'd get me on a reality show dressed as a superhero.

But then I found myself thinking up hero ideas during my commute, and there's one that I kinda like... [Blushing]

By day, he's Closetman, mild-mannered accountant, but, whenever there is a cry for help with shoes, hair, or accessories, Closetman becomes...Glamazon Warrior!

I'm sorely tempted to don the orange tights.

I say you should give in to the impulse. [Smile]

"One of US! One of US! One of US!"

Oh, did I say that out loud? [Blushing]

Now's my chance to show off my idea of a guy...get this...who sees a BAT (of all things) and is inspired to create fear in the hearts of the underworld by dressing up like one and using (stay with me now) gadgets to move from building to building and create diversions and such.

*awkward silence*

On the other hand, I'm anxious to see the sequel of this show, "Who Wants To Be A Supervillain?" THEN I could show up as a guy who fell in toxic waste and it bleached his skin so he dresses up like a CLOWN and sprays laughing gas that––

Hello?

It would have been wasted if said quietly.
