...what would it be?

I would probably start a business that would be something I would enjoy, could work reasonable hours at, and would make enough money to support my family at. (Although it's a hard choice between that and "conceive a boy...")

Would you go to school? Go on a reality tv show? Enter a contest? Something completely different?

Guess you'll just have to keep trying. [Wink]

Mine would be similar to your actually - I would start my own business that would let me work from home, be something I love (probably food related) and would make enough money to (along with Tony's income) keep us and our (future) family comfortable.

Be able to pursue a career as a concert musician (specifically in the pit of a great opera house). [Hat]

There are more practical objectives I would love to succeed at, but I believe I can make them happen; essentially, it boils down to minimizing the intermediate steps which lead up to my future goals.

Write a best-selling award-winning novel and live off its monetary success for the rest of my life.

Mine is the same as her's up there. Except I would want to write the novel and then have an award winning, record breaking, multi-billion dollar making movie be adapted from it. Just think of all the royalties.

I would do that too. But since it is already taken, I would conquer the globe, and impose a new world order to reflect my ideals and beliefs.

Run off with that person I want to run off with.
It's hopeless. Why can't I give it up?

The novel I could just work on and struggle on my own with.

Har. This thread is poignantly ironic in light of my summer plans.

I would pull my life together and function normally.

I would love to quit my job, stay home, raise babies and write Newbery Award winning books.

I think it is awful that for some of you, your greatest aspiration would be to deny the rest of us something that brings us such joy. How sad your life must be!

[edit for crazy typos]

Write an autobiography/biography mix that includes my thought on my life (and ALL of it; nothing left out) including the statements and opinions and thoughts of everybody who has ever interacted enough with me in my life to remember it.

Not necessarily because my life had been extraordinarly interesting (although I hope to make it somewhat interesting before I die), but because I think something that in depth in anybody's life would be very ineresting...

I second that.

I'd also like to, you know, start a massive company and become an entertainment mogul.

But that would make not failing in love infinitely more difficult.

Fly, without the use of machinery, and without being affected by low oxygen levels and cold temperatures in the upper atmosphere.

Everything else I want in my life's entirely acheivable, so I don't want to waste a wish.

I would redirect the energies of people that spend thier time trying to change the way other people think to something potentially more productive like basket weaving or knitting.

[Razz]

But seriously I would rather take Subaru to another world championship followed by a successful LeMans career which would include driving the fist hybrid LMP to victory at Circuit De Sarthe.

I can't think of anything worth wishing for that I would be willing to wish for.

Yeah, I could choose riches, but that seems like a waste of a good wish.

I'd be afraid of causing more harm than good if I chose something that really mattered.

When I first read the thread title, the first thing that popped into my head was to jump off a high building and take flight, Superman-style. I don't know why in the world I would want to do that, but, golly! it would be neat.

Broadway, baby!

But what I really want most is to have a close family, and raise happy kids safely to adulthood, and see them find their joy, and learn and grow a lot without having to go through drug abuse or unwed pregnancy to do it.

Of course those are the things I'm already trying to do, but it would be really nice to know I wouldn't fail at it.

Somehow come up with enough money that none of my loved ones ever had to worry about finances again. That way everyone could stop working in jobs they hate and find something they enjoyed doing.

Sounds corny, I know, but for some reason this is always the extent of my winning the lottery fantasy.

Ditto. Finding the love of my life and having a family with her is more important to me than monetary success or anything like that. Now if I already had those things, then I might start with the monetary success stuff. [Razz]

hmm, do one thing and not fail? i would say.... counterfeit american (or is that united statesian?) currency. (i'm gonna assume that not failing here means not getting caught)

Or, ditto what CT said.. Raise a child.

When I first read this I wanted to say something altruistic, like peace and stability in the Middle East, ending world poverty and other equally acceptable Miss USA answers...

But after I thought about for a second I would, in probably go with personal happiness and happiness for those I care about.

Tante, thinking back to the swimsuit thread from last week, it would sure take some serious weights in thehem of your skirt to hold it down if you did that! [Smile]

Now theres a question! Could Superman be an observant Jew? Maybe we need to ask the Rebbetzin.

I know this sounds rather stupid, but to be truly happy for the rest of my life. Whether it means being married or being single, I don't care, just so long as I'm happy.

Right now that seems like a very lofty goal.
