My soon-to-be-sister-in-law has issued a challenge to find a dish sporting a pattern even uglier than this one's. I'm searching, and will be cross-posting about this on Sakeriver tonight in hopes of getting the help of google-gods like Kayla, but I thought it would be worthwhile to see what people here could come up with.

Personally, I'm not a huge fan of Capodimonte. They produce some truly awfulplates, and junk.

Do I have absyssmal taste when I say that I kind of liked Noemon's turkey plate? I could see using it.
We used to have some really hideous pfalzgraff stoneware that has supposedly become a collector's item. I don't regret getting rid of them... they were really ugly. Oh, and then there were the noname bowls my husband's first wife left with him after their divorce. I think she must have made them herself, because they were thick and heavy, with sponged green paint around the edges and a big pink (preprinted) rose emblem in the center. Really, really ugly. They didn't survive the first month of our marriage.

Tante, those are pretty bad. I thought she meant fine china at first (until I saw the link) so I searched in that arena.
The sad thing now is that now Amazon will start recommending these kind of ugly dishes to me since I searched for them.

My mom had a plate with a pheasant on it, we only use it on thanksgiving, I think it's a hundred years old, but man it's ugly.

You know, it's interesting how sexually explicit a lot of the artwork on Greek pottery was (along with scenes from myth, sporting events, hunting scenes, and religious ritual, of course). The interior of kylixes seemed to be a particularly popular spot for erotic imagery--intended as something entertaining to look at after having polished off your wine, I expect. I was going to link to some examples, but I don't know, maybe this isn't the place for it.
