How many people here have never read a work of fiction by Orson Scott Card?

I'm new here, so I apologize in advance if this is a tired old topic. Just ignore it and in about 2 hours it will get pushed off the front page.

I'm assuming your the first one to come out then, i dont think many ppl would be on here if they didnt absolutly love orson scott card and his writing, but who am i, im new here, and dont wanna overstep my bounds.

I know of at least one, but it's not a secret. I believe that Tante found this place through a websearch. I'm pretty sure she hadn't read OSC then, but probably has by now.

I was just trying to find a good rack for my hat collection. I stumbled on this board and read some interesting posts, and thought I would stick around.

Hey House, I'm not in the closet or even coming out, dude! haha

I have read at least 90% of his books. I have read the Ender series at least 5 times. I buy copies of Ender's Game to give away to friends and family (slaps self on back, "atta boy")

Posted by enochville (Member # 8815) on :

I have only read Ender's Game and Sarah.

Well, his writing, anyway.

Okay, his fiction writing. And his writing on writing.

He read Ender's Game. But it wasn't until a few weeks after he joined Hatrack.

Am I the only one who expected a discussion on Tom Cruise in this thread?

I considered posting "Dad! Tom Cruise won't come out of the closet!" but thought better of it before I pressed "Add Reply" [Big Grin]

I think it would be more interesting if we could find someone who had never read anything that OSC hasn't written.

Does this sentence make sense? The more I read the less convinced I am that it does.

Uh, this is how rumors get started, Kat. I actually have read through the complete Card opus. I read all that he had published prior to coming to Hatrack, and have since read those things he has published since I have come to Hatrack.

Go ahead, quiz me.

I even read those weird Mormon stories at the back of Maps in a Mirror.

I hadn't when I joined. And now all I've read is Ender's Game.

*runs away and hides from the wrath of posters who did not previously know this*

LOL! Actually, I thought the title meant someone on this forum was gay.

I read "Ender's Game" in high school, but didn't think enough of it to read other OSC books. I only got into this forum because of my boyfriend.

Picked up his copy of "Lovelock" and read that the other night, though. It was great!

It's not too late to discuss Tom Cruise. Katie Holmes isn't fooling anyone. They can't even pull off a realistic kiss in public, and yet they're so in love. I totally believe it.

There's already been discussion that all of OSC's books are real history. There are no buggers on earth, hence Ender's Game was true. LOGIC!

The spawn of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes cannot have been conceived through natural means. Didn't Tom say that the reason he and Nicole Kidman didn't have kids was because he was, what's the word, it's four in the morning and it escapes me...

Oops! Sorry! Well, were you at least the one who found the site through a websearch for something unrelated?

That's quite impressive, by the way. There are entire series I haven't read, namely the Seventh Son series. (What's that called, anyway?)

Posted by rivka (Member # 4859) on :

The Alvin Maker series.

Posted by Numinor West (Member # 9375) on :

Telperion the Silver: Thanks!

Orincoro: I'll come out on that too. If you start a thread for haters of the Peek, I'll help you keep it alive for 5 years :-D

Yeah. I had read the books, and was aware of the website, but the forums were beneath my radar. Until I google-searched something and got a hit on rivka's "Ask the Rebbitzen" Thread. That's what brought me to you all.

I'm impressed that you remembered that from my into thread oh so many moons ago.

Posted by Katarain (Member # 6659) on :

Yeah, I remember. I was pretty sure it was that thread, too. But I thought that was the only reason you came here--it's cool that you had already read Card. [Smile]

Have you read "Saints Speak"? That was probably the first one I bought in any case.
