Okay, I'll admit it; I actually find the whole "Whence These Flowers" as an alternate meaning of "WTF" to be a bit annoying, and while the article by itself is quite interesting, I probably wouldn't have linked it (haven't been doing as much of that kind of thing these days) if I hadn't been able to use that subject. The convergence of the two things, though, made the thread a necessity. Well, necessity-ish, anyway.

Yeah, I can understand why a person who was put off by swearing would. Curse words doesn't bother me, so I don't have a problem with it. There is a certain contrivance to Whence These Flowers that rubs me the wrong way, though.

Noemon: Agreed. Just like when people say "oh sugar!" instead of "oh sh**".

I like "whence these flowers" becuase it reminds me of Annie, whom I miss.

Was "Whence These Flowers" an Annie creation? I thought it was just some internet meme like "All your base are belong to us" or "teh".
