You know, I do not think that is the way I would choose to store my pistol. I hope that thing isn't loaded, even if it is a flintlock.

Well, yeah, of course the pistol would always be loaded...you'd never know when some guy was trying to get at you during the night or something, and you'd need to be able to use it quickly, to get it out as fast as possible, before anything odd happened.
