Michael Meyers is coming back from the dead, again. [Eek!]

It's being directed by Rob Zombie. IMDb also lists him in the writing credits along with John Carpenter.

Well, if John Carpenter is involved maybe it won't be so bad. And Rob Zombie seems to do fairly well in the horror department.
