Just released on his site as a free download, "You're Pitiful," a parody of James Blunt.

As someone who only vaguely liked the original song the first 300 times I heard it, I am now doing a happy dance.

Al's site is getting hit pretty hard so downloading may be slow. There's a mirror link at the WeirdAlForum.

I can't WAIT for the new album. Poodle Hat and Running with Scissors were both just full of gems. (RWS is my favorite!!) I need to buy a couple albums every 6 months or so until I have them all. I know all of them, but they were my brother's cassette tapes from the 80s. [Smile]

What Narnia said. Expect I'm the only Weird Al fan in my family.

He's just not as funny as he used to be. The first bit with the "was I too early?" made me crack up though. [Smile]

The best line is the bit about "delusions of adequacy."

Weird Al isn't as funny cuz we're adults now. He's still funny, but he'll never be as funny as when I was 14 and taping him off Dr Demento by holding a microphone up to the radio.

Here's an Entertainment Weekly article where he penned another parody for the magazine.

I think he's a genious.

My family own the DVD of Weird Al Videos and we watch it on a regular basis.

I showed Forrest Gump to my AP History class and then showed them the Weird Al Video and then made them watch other videos because they were funny. (Okay, that was AFTER they had taken the AP test and we were done for the year and we still have 3 weeks of school left...I'm not that big of a slaker!)

Have you seen his interview of Eminem?

I had managed to block the original out of my memory. But it's worth having the echoes back to hear this.

We were singing along with the Poodle Hat CD on a car trip last Saturday. Wyatt was boogying along on some songs. Assuming that fetuses can't yet understand the words, it seems based on music he is an Eminem and Avril fan. [Angst]

I'm also partial to this version of the same song.
