If it fits snugly against the fretboard, you can just set it back on and tighten strings against it to hold it in place. If this works fine, then I would have no problem adding a touch of elmer's glue next time you have the strings off, to keep it in place.
If not, then definitely find a local luthier to fix it.

Just don't use super-strong epoxy or super-glues. That nut is meant to be removable!!!

Bob is right. In fact my very fine studio classical has a nut that isn't even glued on, and I have never had a problem. Once you get the strings on, the nut has basically no-where to go. If your concerned about losing it though, a dab of elmers is all thats needed.
