This is why I don't get upset if I don't win anything when I submit things in shows. Actually this makes me feel a lot better. You never know what the judges are looking for. Some of the local shows around here will only have one judge then you really don't know what to expect.

I once went to an exhibit to find my picture displayed upside down. Two years later, with a different picture, SAME THING. Strange, but I'd take that over what happened to this guy, that's just nuts!

Yeah, it's too bad. I really LOVE the scuplture of the laughing head.
The box it was sitting on...well, it made me think of man's inhumanity to man. Especially the inhumanity of rejecting someone's excellent artwork.
(I often wonder about abstract art being hung upside down. I've heard of that before, and I just wonder don't artists put a sticker on the back saying "this side up" or something?

It is very coffin-like...but in a way that embraces the void, rather than merely mimicking it. In that respect, it is truly transcendent in its nothingness.

The angle of the light makes the plinth all so much better. It enhances the artisticness of it.

Haha, the thing about my two pictures that were found hanging upside down were both of them, while being kind of surreal, had recognizable objects that have definite top and definite bottoms. One was a two-dimensional pattern, and the other, two hands holding a crystal ball.... and its pretty obvious the way hands hold something, right?
