Anyone going to the special advance screenings tonight: Tell me if it's good?

Already got my tickets!

Going tonight. At 10.
I know that with big releases like this some theaters will have midnight shows, since 12:01 am is officially the release date. But how do they justify the 10pm showings? Isn't that jumping the gun?

I assume the studio asked for it to rope in a younger crowd.

Or those of us who have to work in the AM....

So... anyone mind pirating it and showing it here? From what I've read, you guys are cool with pirating, right?

The movie spills over into 12:01 therefore the FIRST screening of the movie did indeed take place during that time

I can answer this question!
Studios know that the Thursday 'midnight' movie will make more money if it is at 10 PM.
Movie Theaters like it this way for a variety of reasons. Less payroll, more income, and it's just an all-round good deal, for both the movie theaters and for the movie studios...
And for the audience, btw!

So they really don't have to "justify" anything. Movie Theaters say: Hey -- 10 PM screening on this one?
And Movie Studios say: Well, sure.
(Disney is the last major hold-out on this, by the way, so don't expect a 10 pm Pirates of the Carribean......)

I want to go...
Not at 10 PM, however. Maybe later this week.

I'm going on Friday - matinee hour showing. Hope it's worth it. Don't tell me what it is about until after I go see it!

**SPOILER**
Its about a man who came from a planet called Krypton. he leads a dual life, one mundane, the other as a super hero. There's this girl, named Lois Lane that he likes, but she likes superman not him. The irony is that HE IS superman.
I give the spoiler warner because boy was I pissed when they rereleased the star wars trilogy a few years ago and someone in line blurted out the fact that Darth Vader was Luke's father.

Darth Vader WHAT??!
Oh, you bastard.

Sadly, I work until 10:00 PM, so I was really hoping for an actual midnight showing on this one. Phooey.

Lots of places have midnight showings, too, so you should check. Like here, where we're going to a 12:01 .
Posted by Enigmatic (Member # 7785) on :
When I last checked, the theaters near me had 1 or 2 screens showing at 10, and none at 12:01. It's possible they've updated their showtimes today, but I doubt it.
