That's the first good song from him I've heard that wasn't a total spazcake.

how can I listen to the song when Al has explicitly told me not to download it?

It's easy, a long as you don't mind getting stuck in a Star Trek causality loop.

If you go to the page Chris linked, the song streams. No need to download.

I like it.

I saw Weird Al perform live, once. It was a lot of fun. [Smile]

Just watched the video on Yahoo! Music Premiere.

It's a scream. Like a Schoolhouse Rock! cartoon gone horribly wrong.

Yeah for Al. I'm glad he's still making awesome music.

But his voice is just so bad. Its still listenable, but man that guy is the best bad singer I have ever heard. By this I mean, experienced but no natural talent.

I dunno. I actually quite like Weird Al's voice.

If I'm ever half the musician he is, I'll die happy.

I'm totally an Al fan. His is the only performance, barring something like "so and so covering" during fourth of July, that I've been to. It was one heck of a show. I walked away with my voice lost. His lyrics are genuis as far as I'm concerned (though, I'm pretty bad with words myself).

I actually prefer his original songs to his parody songs.

But in many of the parodies, it's really hard to tell in the instrumental beginning whether it's the original or the Weird Al song. You can often tell because Weird Al's band plays it better than the original.

The video's pretty funny too-- you can get it on Yahoo music.

I have to disagree. He's not opera singer, but he's got a decent voice. A lot better than many famous singers.

I'd much rather listen to "You're Pitiful" than the original.

So is this an original or a parody of another tune? Because the tune sure sounds familiar, but I can't place it...

His originals are usually what he calls "style parodies," that mimic either a specific genre of music or a specific artist/band.

To me, this had a strong "We Are the World" feel...

His polka medleys always crack me up. Nothing like hearing AC/DC, Metallica and Iron Butterfly done a-la polka!

Yea I love the polka medleys too.
