My younger brother is into all things retro. Among these things are Beatles memorabilia. He was born in 1965, so it's not all that retro for him, but still.

I remember he used to have this picture up on the wall in his bedroom. It was on the set of the Ed Sullivan Show, and the Beatles are sitting in four chairs on the side of the stage getting their makeup done. By my great-aunt. My brother has this fantasy that the picture was taken just as he was being born, which is kind of cute. I expect he's never actually checked, because that'd take the fun out of it.

But Aunt Ruth has done the makeup for any number of celebs. And it never gave her the coverage that her newest thing has. She's apparently making wigs for dogs. They did an article in the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, and somehow, it got syndicated all over the place. You can do a web search for "Ruth Regina", and that one article is just everywhere. This is a copy of that article.

Anyway, she's going to be on Letterman tonight. And all I can say is, he'd better behave himself.

Dave did NOT look pleased with the drinking-out-of-his-mug part...

No, he didn't. Do you think that was coffee or water?

I felt bad for the dogs. I would have been trembling, too. And for the record, my Aunt Ruth is about 90 or so. Her mother, my great-grandmother, lived until about 100, and she was completely lucid and bright until the very end.

Knowing Dave... a coffee type concoction... ; )

Good for her/them!!!

Is she really? Wow, I'd thought she was about 70.

Yeah, the dogs didn't really look too thrilled, but your aunt was adorable. She seems like a very feisty lady. [Smile]

Did the thread title remind anyone else of this Veggie Tales song?

quote:
On the day I got my tooth, I had to kiss my Great Aunt Ruth
She had a beard... and it felt weird

Not true. I do not have a great-aunt Ruth!

My kids do, though. [Wink]
