I've noticed your posts in a few topics now. Intelligent, sense of humor, and you know the plural of cervix!

Plus, you share the (nick)name of my favorite aunt. [Big Grin] (Almost, anyway. You spell it funny. [Wink] )

It's clear you will be a great addition to Hatrack. Welcome! [Smile]

I haven't noticed you [Smile] . But that's probably because you're intelligent and have a sense of humor and know the plural of cervix. Not my type of threads [Wink] . Hehe. Welcome though and I hope you enjoy your stay here at the 'Rack. [Wave]

This is such a tease. Will someone please just put it in this thread: What is the plural of Cervix? [Grumble]

On that note- welcome libbie, I didn't think it was a political thread, but we will know if a new alter-ego surfaces by the name of "connie." Too cute. [Wink]

Haha, I'm glad someone asked before me. Anyway, welcome, Libbie [Wave]

Thanks! I've actually been haunting the writer's workshop area for months now, but I wandered on over here. I only know the plural of cervix because I used to be a medical transcriptionist before starting my own business (wedding photography).

My name is spelled funny because I'm named after my great-grandma, who was born in 1899. Back then, being named Libbie instead of Elizabeth AND spelling it with an I-E was probably the equivalent of being named, I don't know, Zagnuterina today. Pretty exotic and strange. I like it for that reason.

Thanks for the welcome! You guys rock.

Har har. I do consider myself a liberal, too, so the name is fitting.

Okay. It's cervices. Technically, any word that ends in -x is pluralized by adding -ces. The trivia you learn while working for doctors....

Libbie just emailed me to say she knew what my sn meant. So I looked at her email, and I know her as an artist I admire who is in the same hobby as me. This is awesome.

Really? Sex, plural is Seces. Are you sure? What about paradox? Paradoces? Xerox=xeroces, tax=taces?

I dunno about this one. Shinanigances!

Welcome, Libbie. I saw in another post that you're in Seattle. I live in Federal Way so we aren't too far apart.

Sorry, that's words of more than three letters ending in -ix, -ex, -yx, or -ax become -ices, yces, or -aces - at least in medical terminology, which "cervix/cervices" fits into. If you doubt me, click here: http://www.meditec.com/medical-plurals.html

I'm a wedding photographer now, okay? I haven't done med trans in a few years. There's a reason for that (IT'S INCREDIBLY BORING!).

I like shennanigances, though. That could be the name of a Maury Povich teenager.

Here is Libbie's site, so you can see her gorgeous paintjobs on other gorgeous sculptures. I don't have any of her work yet (may need to work on that one [Wink] ), but it's lovely and some of the best in the model horse hobby. Yes you people that don't care about horses should look, this person is painting horse colors onto 3d sculptures sometimes as small as 2 inches tall (the Hadrian on the brindle page is that little). Now I should go find the Weird Al parodies about showing miniature horses.

Ohh, pretty horsies! I love the spots on this one, and the details on the faces (especially the veins and around the eyes and nose) are great!

Oh, golly, I need to grow up. I was entirely too amused for far too long by the third picture down in Myr's link.

Tee hee. Yeah, I actually have a folder on my computer of horses' naughty bits, so I know I'm painting and sculpting them realisticially.

Not to contribute to the crudeness but my brother and I just stared as an elephant did its business, my dad walked up as he saw us staring and said, "Its old news for SOME of us."

My brother and I laughed as my mom tried to simultaneously stifle a smile and scold my dad for crassness at the same time.

[Big Grin]
