I've never seen an episode of either before. My friend was making fun of me for never seeing house and told me that it was the greatest show ever. Could I watch tonight's episode and understand it? Or is it alot about continuity? Could I watch it, not understand it, and someone here would be willing to explain everything to me [Big Grin] ?

I'm really getting into House. It might actually replace Law and Order as my television addiction.

I heard alot of good things about House. Nip/Tuck can't say I am a fan of what I have seen.

Gaal, I just started watching House this summer and I enjoyed the first episode I watched, even though I knew there were things I was missing out on. It has definitely become my TV addiction. I'm planning to get the season one DVDs and start watching so that I can pick up on any missing backstory.

At this point I've watched reruns on both Tues. and Fri. nights and I don't know which seasons I've been watching, so I could use some story arc help!

Anyway, if that came across as ambivalent or confusing, I'd definitely say start watching now and don't worry about what you've missed, there is enough story and character development in each episode that it doesn't matter that you don't know what happened in the past.

I don't usually watch scenes from upcoming episodes, but I did catch a glimpse of the ones at the end of last night's show, and it looks pretty bizarre--a levitating boy, if I caught that right? I'm not too crazy about them veering off into the realm of the supernatural. I guess I'll have to see it before I pass judgment.

I'm betting it's the Vicodin.

They aren't going to.

OK, that makes sense.

Nah, the show's too good about making sure everything has a logical explanation.

If it's not the vicodin, then House is still hallucinating.

Yeah, I was thinking that, too, Shigosei. His brain just got better at it after he figured it out the first time.

Was the boy levitating? I didn't see that. I saw an alien implant, flickering lights, all that stuff they use to make it look "supernatural", but if the boy was levitating, I missed it... It did look funny to me. I do remember the dialogue
"...the lab can't identify the material."
"Really?"
"No, you idiot, it's titanium."
I took it as a total spoof of The X-Files and stuff like that, while probably also indicating that things are still not what they seem. Either way, an entertaining hour of tv on the way. I am excited about it.

I'm the first to admit I wasn't paying close attention--I don't remember the dialogue at all. But I just looked up and could swear I saw the kid rising in the air off his hospital bed.

See, now this is the part where I feel the lack of the missing back story. I don't have any idea how House got shot, and the only time I ever saw him hallucinate on the show was due to Vicodin (as far as I know). I'll catch up one of these days!
