It's really really stalker friendly now . . . I'm intrigued yet repulsed. Run away!

How so?

There's just so much information on the frontpage now. You can see whatever your friends have done on Facebook, which is really quite a bit. It's sort of crazy.

I decided to look. Now I have a massive headache. Gah.

At least all that stuff is public already. Or at least the stuff on my page was. I guess it could be more disturbing.

Has anyone seen a friend break up or no longer be single or get engaged? It's RIDICULOUS.

Posted by kojabu (Member # 8042) on :

Ok I really don't like that. Gr.

I just saw someone take "jerking off" out of their intrests, and I really don't need to know when my friend's join groups about Monica Lewinski.

You can just never update your profile again...

Posted by Samarkand (Member # 8379) on :

hahahaha Several of my friend's have joined Anti-New-Facebook groups. I like my friends. And Hatrackers. What made the Facebook people think this was a good idea???

Bored guys in their marketing department.

Posted by kojabu (Member # 8042) on :

Pretty soon you'll be able to see who is looking at who's profile.

Posted by Orincoro (Member # 8854) on :

Its so much information! I seriously doubt that kojabu, its been tried on myspace with serious backlash. You can do it on xanga though...

Posted by pfresh85 (Member # 8085) on :

If that happens, Facebook will lose some of its fun. I mean how do you sneak around and look at someone's profile if they know you're looking at?

Just complain to the creators. I know I did. This just takes stalking to a whole new (and may I say innappropriate) level.

I've complained too. Unfortunately, it seems like everyone's getting the same generic response that amounts to, "don't worry--you'll grow to love it!"

No, I don't think so.

I'm giving them a week. If it doesn't change, I'm abandoing facebook. I don't need everyone to see on whose wall I wrote or exactly what I change in my profile. If they're watching and notice, that's fine. But this makes it too accessible to everyone.

I've x'd out my entire mini-feed section, but I'm frustrated that I'll have to do that every single time I do anything on Facebook.

I don't want this to make all my friends stop using FB! It was fine the way it was, but now it will be perfectly understandable for people to leave for fear of stalking made easier.

Plus, the FB is just going to become more and more like myspace, where more and more of it is given over to attention mongering and posing instead of actually facilitating events, and keeping in touch with *real* friends.

Facebook is silly. So is myspace.

When I saw that yesterday morning, I immediately created a group called, "The new Facebook is schizophrenic and confusing!"

I felt better.

Oh yeah! I'm being proactive.
